The VEVOR RC-9001J is a wheeled electric drain cleaning machine, often called a sewer snake or drain auger. It feeds a 100 ft cable into a blocked pipe and spins it to break through the clog. It is made for plumbers, property owners and restaurant kitchens that need more reach and power than a hand tool offers.
Automatic feed and foot switch
An auto-feed control system powers the cable in and out of the pipe. VEVOR adds forward and reverse control and an air-activated foot switch, so your hands stay free to guide the cable. Reverse is useful for pulling the cable back or releasing it if it catches.
A long steel core cable
The cable measures 100 ft by 1/2 inch with a steel core. VEVOR says it resists breakage, twisting and corrosion and moves through curved pipes from 2 to 4 inches. In general, the more bends a line has, the harder it is for any cable to travel, so actual reach depends on your pipes.
Eight quick-change cutters
The machine includes 8 interchangeable cutters, which VEVOR lists for pipes, floor drains, sinks and toilets. Tool hooks on the machine hold the cutters when not in use. Different heads are generally used for different blockages, for instance a narrower head to open a path through a clog, then a wider one to scrape the pipe wall.
Drum, wheels and size
The drum is semi-enclosed and made of plastic that VEVOR calls durable and rust-resistant; its design lets you see how much cable is out. The machine has 7.5-inch wheels and a foldable handle for moving and storing it. It measures about 25.2 x 20.2 x 38.8 inches and weighs 90.4 lb.
GFCI protection
A GFCI switch is built in. VEVOR says it helps prevent electric shock. A GFCI is designed to cut the power quickly when it detects a ground fault, which matters near water. Follow the manual for power supply, setup and protective equipment.
Who it suits
It suits plumbers, landlords, restaurants and homeowners dealing with stubborn blockages in 2-4 inch drain lines.
What to check before you buy
- Pipe size: confirm your drain lines are between 2 and 4 inches.
- Weight: at 90 lb, plan how to carry it up stairs or into a vehicle.
- Power: check the supply and outlet where you will work.
- Cleaning: rinse the cable, drum and cutters after use, as the manual describes.
- Main lines: for a shared or main sewer blockage, a plumber may be the better route.
