The VEVOR QJ8012-24 is a push-type magnetic sweeper: a wide magnet on wheels that you roll across the ground to pick up nails, screws and other steel debris. It is meant for garages, workshops, yards and building sites, where stray fasteners can puncture tyres or injure feet.
How a rolling magnetic sweeper works
A long magnet sits in a housing a short distance above the ground. As you push, it attracts any ferrous (iron or steel) pieces and holds them against its underside. Because it covers a lot of ground quickly, it is far faster than checking by hand or using a hand-held magnet. It will not pick up aluminium, brass, copper or stainless steel that isn't magnetic.
VEVOR says the 24-inch rectangular magnet is wide for thorough coverage and strong enough to attract small metal particles.
What the 50 lb capacity means
VEVOR says the sweeper holds up to 50 lbs (about 23 kg) of collected metal, up from the 30 lb it compares against. A higher capacity matters mostly after large jobs, such as a roofing clean-up or demolition, since the sweeper doesn't need to be emptied as often. In ordinary garage use, the debris will be light.
Quick release
Once the magnet is full, the quick-release handle lets you drop the collected debris into a bin in one move, instead of pulling pieces off by hand. Typically the release works by moving the magnet away from the housing so the debris falls off.
Handle and size
The telescoping handle adjusts from 30.3 to 44.5 inches to suit people of different heights, so you can sweep without stooping. VEVOR gives overall dimensions of about 29.3 x 6.9 x 50.8 inches and a weight of 14.7 lb (about 6.7 kg). VEVOR lists aluminum, plastic, iron and magnet as the materials.
Where it is useful
- Garage floors and driveways after a repair job
- Workshop floors with metal shavings
- Yards and lawns, where nails or screws may be hidden in the grass
- Building and renovation sites
What to check before you buy
- Surface: wheels roll best on hard, even ground; long grass or gravel may need slower passes.
- Metal type: it picks up only magnetic metals.
- Weight when full: 50 lb of debris is heavy, so empty it before it gets that far.
- Storage: the handle is long, so check where it will hang or stand.
- Handling debris: wear gloves and keep hands away from sharp pieces when releasing the load.
- Care: keep the magnet away from phones, cards and pacemakers, as with any strong magnet, and follow the manual.

- Holds up to 50 lbs of ferrous debris.
- Quick-release handle for dumping collected metal.
- Telescoping handle from 30.3 to 44.5 inches.
- About 14.7 lb; picks up magnetic metals only.
