The VEVOR J1G-ZP11-K305 is a corded 12-inch sliding compound miter saw. It makes accurate crosscuts, mitres and bevels in wood, and VEVOR also lists composite decking and laminates as materials it can cut. A sliding arm lets a 12-inch blade handle wider boards than a fixed-arm saw of the same size.

What "sliding compound" and "double bevel" mean

A miter saw swings left and right to cut angles across a board. A compound saw also tilts the blade (a bevel cut), so you can combine both angles in one pass, as crown moulding and picture frames require. Double bevel means the blade tilts both ways. VEVOR says this model bevels from 0° to 45° to the left and right, so you can cut opposing angles without flipping the workpiece.

The sliding arm moves the blade head forward and back on rails. In general, that lets the saw cross boards much wider than the blade radius alone would allow. VEVOR describes an axial sliding system that also lets the saw sit close to a wall, which saves workshop space.

Motor, speed and blade

The saw has a 15 amp motor. VEVOR rates it at 2500W for straight cuts and 3000W for bevel cuts, with a no-load speed of 5000 RPM. A 15 amp draw is typical for full-size corded miter saws and is near the limit of a standard 120-volt household circuit, so it is best used alone on its circuit.

The blade is 12 inches (about 305 mm) with 60 teeth. In general, a higher tooth count gives a smoother finish on trim and moulding, while fewer teeth cut faster but leave a rougher edge. A 60-tooth blade is usually chosen for finish work.

LED guide and angle scale

An LED system projects a cutting line onto the workpiece, so you can see where the blade will land before you cut. VEVOR also lists a precision scale and a locking system for holding the chosen angle. As with any saw, it is worth checking the scale against a square or an angle gauge when you first set it up, and adjusting it if the manual describes how.

Aluminum base and portability

VEVOR says the base is aluminum rather than traditional cast iron. Aluminum is lighter and sheds heat well, which the brand links to steady running during long cutting sessions. The listing gives the saw's weight as 46.4 lb (about 21 kg), so it can be carried to a jobsite by one person, though a stand or a sturdy bench helps with long boards.

Who it suits

The specs suit people who build furniture, frame pictures, trim rooms, lay decking or do general carpentry, and who want a full-size saw with a long cutting reach. It is a stationary, corded tool, so it fits best where you have a bench or stand and a nearby outlet.

What to check before you buy

  • Cutting capacity: look for the maximum width and height the saw can cut at 90° and at 45°, and compare these with the boards you use.
  • Space: the listing gives the packed size as 33.5 x 22.4 x 29.9 in; allow room for the arm to slide and for long stock on either side.
  • Power: confirm the outlet and circuit can carry a 15 amp tool, and use a suitable extension cord if needed.
  • Dust and noise: check how dust is collected, and wear hearing and eye protection as the manual advises.
  • Blades and parts: confirm blade size and arbor fit before you buy a replacement, and see what comes in the box.
  • Safety: follow the manual on guards, clamping the workpiece and safe operation.

The short version

  • A corded 12-inch sliding compound miter saw with double bevel (0° to 45° left and right).
  • 15 amp motor, rated by VEVOR at 2500W (straight) and 3000W (bevel), 5000 RPM.
  • 60-tooth blade, LED cut line, angle scale and lock.
  • Aluminum base; 46.4 lb.
  • Check cutting capacity, bench space and your circuit before buying.
