The VEVOR Q1CZ-800C is a portable electric utility pump for moving water from one place to another. It runs on 115V AC, has a 1/2 HP motor and a cast iron body, and comes with a filter and brass connectors. It is intended for draining pools, ponds, hot tubs, aquariums, rain barrels and flooded areas, and for watering a garden.
What 1,600 GPH and 120 ft mean
VEVOR rates the pump at up to 1,600 gallons per hour (about 6,000 litres) and a pumping height of 120 ft (about 36 m). Both are maximum figures. Flow falls as the water has to be lifted higher, as hoses get longer or narrower, and with bends and restrictions. Think of the flow figure as an upper limit at low lift and the height as the most the pump can push against.
Body and construction
The pump body is cast iron, which VEVOR describes as wear-resistant. The pump head and water-passing parts are treated with electrophoresis rust-proofing, which it says resists stains and corrosion. A portable handle makes it easy to carry; the unit weighs about 17.4 lb (7.9 kg) and measures about 9.6 x 5.7 x 8.9 inches (24 x 14.5 x 22.6 cm).
Switch, cord and inlet
An integrated power switch starts and stops the pump with one click. The water inlet can be taken off and refitted without tools, which helps when clearing the inlet or changing connection. The 10 ft (3 m) power cord gives some reach from an outlet, but a long run of hose is better than extension cords near water. Keep all electrical connections dry and use a properly protected outlet, following the manual and local electrical codes.
What comes in the kit
The kit includes a filter, a carbon brush and two brass connectors. VEVOR says the carbon brush has a service life of up to 200 hours; carbon brushes are a wear part in brushed motors, so expect to replace them eventually. Check the manual for the connector thread sizes so the hoses you use will fit.
Using it correctly
VEVOR gives clear instructions. Add water through the inlet so the impeller is submerged before each use. The pump is not submersible and must not be used in water, and the water source should be free of large particles. Never run the pump dry, since running without water can damage it.
Who it suits
It suits homeowners and gardeners who need to move water occasionally: emptying a pool cover, draining a hot tub, pumping out a flooded basement area, filling or draining a rain barrel or tank, or watering from a pond.
What to check before you buy
- Power: it needs a 115V AC outlet with suitable protection.
- Hoses: confirm hose size and connectors match the brass fittings.
- Water quality: it is for clean water without large debris; use the filter.
- Position: the pump sits beside the water, not in it.
- Lift and distance: the flow drops with height and hose length.
- Upkeep: check the manual on carbon brush replacement and draining after use.
