The VEVOR JZ-DD150 is a small electric scissor lift table that raises and lowers a flat platform at the press of a button. Moving a load up or down by hand is hard on the back, and a lift table takes care of the height change. VEVOR positions it for material handling and transport, and also for uses such as a liftable coffee table, photography stand or laboratory lift.

The platform and the lift range

The tabletop measures 30 x 16 inches, and the whole unit is made from carbon steel. The platform lifts from 8 inches to 28 inches (about 20 to 71 cm), so it can sit low for loading and rise to a comfortable working height. VEVOR gives the maximum load as 330 lb (about 150 kg). That is the limit for the whole load, including any tabletop or accessory you add.

The unit itself weighs about 40.8 lb (18.5 kg), and its overall size is 30 x 16 x 28 inches, which is the extended height. A scissor mechanism folds flat when lowered, which keeps it fairly compact for storing.

Motor and lifting speed

VEVOR describes a quiet, high-performance motor with 6000N of thrust. The stated speeds are 10 mm/s with no load and 5 mm/s with a load. For scale, 5 mm/s works out to about 18 metres per hour, so a full lift from 8 to 28 inches (roughly 510 mm) with a load takes in the region of a minute and a half. It is a slow, steady lift, which suits careful positioning more than fast cycling. VEVOR says this slow movement gives accurate height control and avoids wobbling.

Wired controller or wireless remote

There are two ways to operate it. A wired controller is the simple option, and a wireless remote works from up to about 10 metres (33 ft). Being able to stand back is useful when you are watching a load as it rises.

Moving it and locking it in place

The table has four fixed foot pads for stationary use and four 360° swivel casters, each with a brake. The casters let one person roll it around a workshop, studio or warehouse, and the brakes hold it still once it is in position. Use the foot pads or brakes as the manual describes, and keep the floor flat and firm.

Built-in cut-off

VEVOR states that if the load exceeds the working capacity or the lift is blocked, the platform automatically cuts the power. It describes this as protection for the user and for the table. It does not replace staying within the rated load, keeping hands and feet clear of the scissor mechanism, and following the manual.

Where it is used

VEVOR suggests several uses: a height-adjustable workbench or assembly station, a mobile cart for moving items between levels, a tatami or coffee table, a photography stand, and a lab lift. Because the table can be customised with different tops or accessories, a taller or heavier top eats into the 330 lb capacity.

Who it suits

It suits workshops, small warehouses, studios and home projects where a modest load needs to be raised to a working height without lifting it by hand. It is not a lifting device for people, and it isn't made for loads over its stated capacity.

What to check before you buy

  • Load: weigh the heaviest item plus any tabletop or fixture, and keep the total under 330 lb.
  • Size: compare the 30 x 16 inch platform with the objects you want to place on it.
  • Height: check that 8 inches closed and 28 inches fully raised suit your workspace.
  • Power: check the power supply arrangements in the manual for your location.
  • Speed: the lift is slow by design, so consider whether that suits your tasks.
  • Floor: use it on a level, solid surface, and apply the brakes before loading.
