The VEVOR JR-410TZ is an electric drain auger: a motorised drum holding 100 ft of steel cable that feeds itself into a pipe and spins to break through blockages. It is designed for sewer lines, sinks and toilets, and for people who want more reach and power than a hand-cranked snake.

How an auto-feed drain machine works

A drain auger clears a clog by pushing a rotating cable with a cutting head into the pipe. When the head meets the blockage, it breaks up the material or hooks it so it can be pulled out. On this machine, VEVOR says an auto-feeding system and a 1700 RPM high-speed motor drive the cable in and out, so the operator does not push it by hand.

The cable

The cable is 100 ft long and 3/8 in thick (about 30 m by 9.5 mm), made of solid steel core. VEVOR says it resists breakage, twisting, kinking and corrosion, and can work through curved pipes from 2 to 4 inches in diameter. Generally, a thicker cable is stiffer and suits larger lines, while thinner cables bend more easily around tight traps. The 2 to 4 in range covers many household drains and sewer branches.

Controls

  • Direction knob: CW / OFF / CCW lets you reverse rotation, which helps when a head snags or when you pull the cable back.
  • Air-activated foot switch: starts and stops the motor so both hands stay free to guide the cable.

Four cutter heads

The set includes four cutter heads for different clog types. In general, narrow heads suit soft blockages and grease, while wider or bladed ones handle roots and denser material. The right choice depends on the pipe and the cause of the blockage, so the manual is the place to match head to job.

Moving and storing it

At 23.2 x 17.7 x 35.6 in and 79.4 lb (about 36 kg), it is a hefty machine, but 7.5-inch shock-absorbing wheels let it travel over indoor floors and outdoor terrain. A semi-enclosed metal drum keeps the cable neat and lets you see how much is left.

What to check before you buy

  • Confirm the diameter of your pipes against the stated 2 to 4 in range.
  • Check how far the blockage is likely to be; 100 ft is the maximum reach.
  • Make sure you can access a cleanout or open the line, and that power is nearby.
  • Read the manual for safety steps, including eye and hand protection, and keep clothing clear of the rotating cable.
  • Think about transport: the unit weighs 79.4 lb.
  • Plan to clean and dry the cable after use, as the manual directs.
