The VEVOR ET-100LV is a 30-gallon vertical pressure tank for a well pump system. It sits between the pump and the household plumbing and holds pressurised water, so the pump doesn't have to start every time a tap opens. The result, in general, is steadier pressure and less wear on the pump.
What a pressure tank does
A pump that switches on and off for every small draw of water works harder and wears faster. A pre-charged tank holds a cushion of pressurised air, and as water enters, that air compresses. When you open a tap, the stored pressure pushes water out, and the pump only restarts when the pressure falls to its lower setting. VEVOR says the tank reduces start-stop frequency and keeps pressure and flow stable.
Size and build
The tank stands about 31.7 inches tall with a 16.9 x 16.9 inch footprint, and it weighs 29.8 lb (about 13.5 kg) empty. It is made from 1.2 mm carbon steel. VEVOR describes it as suited to whole-house supply as well as schools, farm irrigation and industrial use.
A "30-gallon" tank is a nominal size. The amount of water you can draw between pump cycles (the drawdown) is smaller than the total volume, because part of the tank is taken up by the air charge. Pump and pressure-switch settings affect it too.
Pressure and temperature limits
According to the brand, the tank is pre-charged to 2 bar (29 psi) and withstands up to 6 bar (87 psi) of internal pressure, with a working temperature of 90°C (194°F). The pre-charge is the air pressure inside before any water is added. It is usually set a little below the pump's cut-in pressure, and it should be checked with the tank drained of water pressure, as the manual describes.
Connection and installation
A 1-inch NPT connector joins the tank to pipes and fittings. NPT is a tapered thread that seals when tightened with suitable thread sealant. VEVOR says the tank is easy to install and asks that it be paired with a suitable relief valve, which is not included. A relief valve protects the system if pressure rises above the safe limit, so it is an important part of the setup rather than an optional extra.
Limits to know about
The listing is clear on two points: the tank is not suitable for drinking water, and it is not frost-proof. That affects where it can go. It should be placed somewhere protected from freezing, and the water it holds shouldn't be treated as a potable supply.
Who it suits
It suits owners replacing or adding a tank on a well pump system, small farms and irrigation setups, and anyone who wants to cut down on pump cycling. A licensed plumber can confirm the right size for your pump flow rate.
What to check before you buy
- Pump compatibility: match the tank to your pump's flow rate and pressure settings.
- Pre-charge: confirm the 2 bar (29 psi) pre-charge suits your pressure switch setting.
- Fittings: check that a 1-inch NPT connection matches your plumbing, and plan for sealant and adapters if needed.
- Relief valve: buy a suitable one, since it isn't included.
- Location: choose a frost-free spot with enough height and floor space.
- Local codes: follow local plumbing codes and the manual.
