The VEVOR DC355 is a 14-inch electric concrete saw for cutting stone, brick, pavers, porcelain and concrete. It has a 2600W motor, a wet-cutting water line with a pump, and a wheeled base. Here is what its specifications mean and what to plan for before using a saw of this size.
Motor and speed
VEVOR rates the motor at 2600W and 4600 rpm and describes it as a pure copper motor. Masonry cutting is demanding, so a high-wattage motor helps the blade hold its speed through dense material. The listing also mentions a slow start, which eases the motor up to speed instead of jolting it, and overload protection.
Cutting depth and what it cuts
The 14-inch blade gives a cutting depth of 5 inches (about 127 mm). VEVOR lists stone, reinforced concrete, paving and brick as suitable materials. It says the saw is not suitable for sticky materials such as asphalt.
The listing also gives power guidance: it recommends cutting at 32A, and at 15A you shouldn't exceed 50 mm (2 inches) per cut. For deeper cuts, make several passes. In practice, the circuit you plug into affects how deep each pass can go.
Wet cutting
The saw comes with a water line, a pump and a blade. Wet cutting feeds water to the blade as it cuts, which generally cools the blade and keeps dust down. VEVOR says its attachment sprays water directly, so you don't need to water the cut with one hand. Wear the protective equipment the manual lists, including eye, ear and breathing protection.
Safety features
VEVOR lists three:
- Double switch: two actions are needed to start the saw, which helps prevent accidental starts.
- Slow start: smoother power-up.
- Built-in GFCI: a ground fault circuit interrupter, designed to cut power if a fault is detected. This is especially relevant with water around.
Always follow the manual and local rules for outdoor and wet-location electrical use.
Wheeled base and handle
The wheeled base doubles as a positioning guide, which is useful for cutting straight grooves or slots with less effort. A D-shaped handle is described as ergonomic for long jobs. The saw measures about 28 x 9 x 13 inches (71 x 23 x 33 cm) and weighs 34.8 lb (about 15.8 kg), so it is a two-hand tool with some weight to move.
Who it suits
Contractors, landscapers and keen DIYers who cut paving, kerbs, brick or concrete slabs, and who need clean straight grooves, for example for conduit or drainage.
What to check before you buy
- Power supply: the listing recommends 32A for full cutting; check your circuit and extension lead.
- Material: avoid sticky materials such as asphalt.
- Water supply: plan a water source for the pump and line.
- Blades: confirm the replacement blade size and type (14-inch).
- Protective gear: have eye, hearing and breathing protection ready.
- Weight: about 34.8 lb, so consider transport and lifting.
