The VEVOR 93W hot water recirculating pump (model VV-BXG-RS15 6SB) is a circulator pump for water heater and heating loops. It moves water around a closed or looped system so that hot water reaches the tap sooner. Here is what its specs mean and what to confirm for your own plumbing.
What a circulator pump does
A recirculating pump keeps water moving through a loop of pipe, so hot water doesn't sit and cool in a long run between the heater and the tap. VEVOR lists applications such as houses and villas, boilers, air conditioning, solar circulation systems and water heater systems. A circulator moves water around a loop. It isn't designed to lift water from a well or to build high pressure.
Three speeds
A switch selects 46W, 67W or 93W. The listing gives the maximum flow as 5.3, 7.4 and 10.5 GPM (20, 28 and 40 L/min), and maximum head lift as 10, 16.5 and 20 ft (3, 5 and 6 m), for the respective settings. Head lift describes how much resistance the pump can overcome. Higher speed means more flow, and for a household loop a lower setting is often enough, so you can match the speed to the job.
Materials
The pump head is stainless steel and the housing is aluminium. The impeller is PES plastic, the shaft is ceramic and the bearing is carbon. Brass fittings and a water-stop come with it. VEVOR says the water may have a slight lubricating oil taste at first, which fades after three to five uses, so follow the manual before connecting it to drinking-water lines.
Fittings and installation
The brass adapter is 3/4 inch G thread, and VEVOR says it is compatible with 1/2 inch NPT. The listing also says the pump fits an NPT 3/4 inch inlet and outlet hose and can be fitted with a wrench. Thread types differ (G is a parallel thread, NPT is tapered), so check the pipe fittings you have before you start.
The pump shaft must be kept horizontal after installation. The cable is about 4 ft (1.25 m) long, and the pump runs on 110V, 60Hz. Electrical and plumbing work should follow local codes and the manual, or be done by a qualified person.
Temperature, pressure and noise
The listing gives a working temperature range of 32°F to 104°F (0 to 40°C), and a liquid temperature range of 32°F to 212°F (0 to 100°C). Those two ranges differ, so check the manual on the maximum water temperature for your system. Maximum working pressure is 10 bar (145 PSI), with a rated pressure of 0.6 bar. The brand says the pump is about 25 dB, which it calls very quiet. Protection is IP44 with Class F insulation.
Size and weight
The pump measures about 5.1 x 4.6 x 4.7 inches (13 x 11.7 x 12 cm) and weighs about 4.8 lb (2.2 kg).
Who it suits
It suits homeowners and installers adding a recirculation loop to an electric water heater, or circulating water in a solar or heating loop, who want adjustable flow.
What to check before you buy
- Pipe sizes and threads: confirm that the 3/4 inch G and NPT adapters match your fittings.
- Water temperature: compare your system's temperature with the figures in the manual.
- Drinking water use: read the manual on approved materials and flushing.
- Position: the shaft must stay horizontal, so check there's room to mount it.
- Power: check that you have a 110V outlet near the pump.
- Loop design: a recirculation loop may need a return line or check valve, so check your plumbing.
The short version
- A 3-speed circulator pump (46, 67 and 93W) for hot water loops.
- Up to 40 L/min flow and 20 ft head lift at the top speed.
- Stainless steel head, aluminium housing, brass 3/4 inch G to 1/2 inch NPT adapters.
- About 25 dB, IP44, with a 4 ft cable.
- Runs on 110V, 60Hz, and must be mounted with the shaft horizontal.
