The VEVOR 5-in-1 Heat Press (model 1515HH30OZB1) is a 15 x 15 inch heat transfer machine with a swing-away arm, a pull-out drawer and a 30 oz tumbler attachment. It is made for pressing designs onto T-shirts, hats, mugs and plates, and for people who want the hot plate kept out of the way while they load and unload.

The swing-away design and drawer

On a clamshell press, the plate stays above your work area as you position the garment. Here, a 360° swing-away arm moves the heating plate to the side, and a pull-out drawer brings the shirt out toward you. VEVOR says this keeps hands away from the plate and gives more room to smooth out the fabric. After pressing, the drawer slides out again, so you can lift off the finished item without reaching under the plate. The plate still gets very hot, so keep the work area clear and follow the manual.

Dual-tube heating

The press uses two heating tubes, which VEVOR says gives quick warm-up and more even heat. Even heat across the plate is what keeps colours consistent and edges sharp in a transfer. The plate has a Teflon coating, which VEVOR says is easy to clean and helps prevent scorching.

Digital temperature and time

You can preset temperature from 32-480°F (0-250°C) and time from 0 to 999 seconds. The ▲ and ▼ buttons select the temperature display in °C or °F. When the preset temperature is reached, VEVOR says the machine stops heating and sounds an alarm. Transfer materials differ in the settings they need, so use the instructions that come with your paper, vinyl or film.

What the five uses are

VEVOR lists T-shirts, pillowcases, hats, mugs and ceramic plates. The upgraded 30 oz tumbler attachment can take two mugs at a time, according to VEVOR, which helps when you are making several of the same item. Check the contents list for the exact attachments and sizes supplied.

Size and weight

The listed dimensions are 15 x 15 x 15 inches (about 38 cm each way), and the machine weighs 29 lb (about 13 kg). That is manageable to move, though it will want a permanent spot on a sturdy table.

Who it suits

It suits crafters, hobby sellers and small shops who press a mix of shirts and drinkware. Anyone who prefers to keep the plate away from the loading area may like the swing-away format.

What to check before you buy

  • Print area: confirm your designs fit within 15 x 15 inches.
  • Tumbler size: the attachment is for 30 oz tumblers; check that your blanks match its shape.
  • Materials: sublimation generally needs polyester or coated blanks.
  • Table space: you need room for the swing-away arc and the drawer.
  • Power: check the electrical requirements in the manual against your outlet.
  • Supplies: a printer, transfer paper and ink are separate.
