The TOMLOV TriL110 is a digital microscope with a built-in 10.1-inch screen, so you can look at a coin, a circuit board or a slide without using an eyepiece. A rotating barrel holds three lenses aimed at different jobs. TOMLOV positions it for coin collectors, electronics hobbyists, students and curious beginners.
Three lenses, three jobs
The lens barrel rotates, which lets you change lens without removing anything.
- Coin lens, 2X to 1000X: intended for numismatists. TOMLOV says that on its 12.6-inch stand and 7 x 8 inch base it can frame whole coins, from dimes to dollars and larger objects, as well as fine details like mint marks.
- Soldering lens, 10X to 1500X: has a longer bracket and a larger base for a stable, roomy working area. TOMLOV suggests it for soldering and watch repair.
- Biological lens, 2000X to 2500X: meant for prepared slides. The listing notes that its observation distance is only 3 to 4 mm, so the lens must be almost touching the sample to focus.
Magnification figures on digital microscopes usually describe the on-screen result, which depends on screen size and digital zoom. Higher numbers do not always mean more usable detail, so treat the coin and soldering lenses as the everyday ones.
Screen and image quality
The 10.1-inch IPS screen has a 178-degree viewing angle. TOMLOV rates photos at 24MP and video at 2K. HDMI and USB output let you show the image on a larger monitor or TV or connect to a computer, which suits presentations or classroom use.
Lighting
Lighting includes 12 built-in LEDs, two gooseneck side lights and a bottom light for slides. TOMLOV says each can be dimmed independently. Adjustable light matters for shiny surfaces like coins, where glare can hide detail.
Capture and remote control
One-button capture records photos and video. A 64GB SD card is included. A wireless remote adjusts magnification, takes photos and starts recording without touching the microscope, which reduces shake and avoids disturbing the sample.
Who it suits
It suits coin collectors, hobbyists doing small electronics work or repairs, and students or families exploring slides. Because the image is shown on a screen, more than one person can look at once.
What to check before you buy
- Your main use: choose based on the lens you will use most. The highest magnification lens needs very close focus.
- Workspace: the stand is 12.6 inches tall with a 7 x 8 inch base, so check the desk space.
- Outputs: confirm that your monitor, TV or computer has the right input for HDMI or USB.
- Soldering work: follow the usual safety guidance, since the microscope does not protect against heat or fumes.
- Slides: biological work needs prepared slides, which are not described as included.
- Power and weight: it weighs 4.4 lb, and you should check the power arrangements in the manual.
