The Soundcore Sport X10 (model A3961) are true wireless Bluetooth earbuds built for exercise. Instead of relying on the ear canal alone to stay put, they add rotatable ear hooks that wrap over the ear. The idea is to keep them secure during running, gym sessions and other movement, while still delivering a bass-forward sound.

How the rotatable ear hooks work

Each earbud has a hook that twists through 210°, according to Soundcore. You turn it until the hook sits comfortably behind your ear, then wear the earbud as usual. In general, an adjustable hook helps people with different ear shapes, and it can also let you pick the angle that feels most stable when you move.

Over-ear hooks are common on sport earbuds because they take some of the weight off the ear canal and resist falling out during impact. Soundcore describes the build as lightweight. The earbuds weigh about 0.1 lb (roughly 45 g) including their packaging dimensions, which are listed as 2.5 x 1.2 x 1.6 inches.

What the sound system does

Soundcore says its dynamic acoustic system delivers twice as much bass while keeping mids and treble clear. It also names a feature called BassUp, which analyses the music in real time and boosts the low end.

Bass-heavy tuning is popular for workouts because it adds punch to rhythm-driven music. If you mostly listen to acoustic, classical or podcast content, you may prefer a flatter profile, and that is where the app helps.

Water and sweat protection explained

The Sport X10 are listed as IPX7. In the IP code system, the "7" means the product is built to survive temporary immersion in water, typically up to one metre for around 30 minutes under test conditions. The "X" means no figure is given for dust protection, so this is a water standard only. Soundcore adds its SweatGuard technology, which it says defends against the corrosive effects of sweat.

IPX7 does not make earbuds suitable for every watery use, and charging contacts should be dry before you put them in the case. Check the manual for care instructions.

Battery life and charging

Soundcore quotes up to 8 hours of music from one charge of the earbuds. The charging case holds three more full charges, bringing the total to as much as 32 hours. Playtime varies with volume and content, so treat these figures as the brand's rated numbers. A fast-charge feature is also part of the listing's title, though the listing does not give the exact speed.

App features

The Soundcore app lets you choose from 22 EQ presets, tailor the sound profile and customise the controls on the earbuds. The listing also mentions in-app breathing exercises. A custom EQ is useful because the same earbuds can then suit both high-energy workout playlists and calmer listening.

Who they suit

They suit people who exercise regularly and have had ordinary earbuds fall out, anyone who wants a rated waterproof build for sweaty sessions, and listeners who like extra bass and the option to adjust it.

What to check before you buy

  • Fit: ear hooks suit most people, but glasses, helmets and hats can crowd the area behind the ear. Check that they sit comfortably alongside anything else you wear.
  • Compatibility: they connect over Bluetooth, so confirm your phone or player supports it, and that the app is available for your device.
  • Awareness: in-ear buds block some outside sound. If you run on roads, check local advice on using headphones outdoors.
  • Care: rinse and dry as the manual says, and keep the case contacts clean.
  • What's in the box: confirm the included ear tips, charging cable and case.
