The Lian Li EDGE EG1200G.WH is a 1200W, fully modular ATX power supply in white. It is built for high-end PCs with power-hungry graphics cards, and it adds a small hub for fans and USB devices. Its L-shaped design and white finish also suit light-coloured builds.
ATX 3.1 and the 12V-2x6 connector
The power supply is listed as ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compliant. These standards cover how a power supply handles the sharp, short-lived power spikes that modern graphics cards can create, and Lian Li says the unit has enhanced resistance to such transients. It includes a 12V-2x6 cable for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 and 40 Series cards, and dual 8-pin to 12VHPWR cables for broader compatibility. 12V-2x6 is the newer revision of the single-plug 16-pin connector, and it should be pushed in fully and fitted without sharp bends near the plug.
Efficiency and noise
Lian Li lists 80 PLUS Gold and Cybenetics Gold certification. Efficiency certifications describe how much of the power drawn from the wall is delivered to your components rather than lost as heat. A higher tier typically means less waste heat, which in turn lets the fan run more slowly. The brand describes the unit as low-noise.
Fully modular cables
With a fully modular unit, every cable detaches from the power supply. You connect only the ones your build needs, which leaves a tidier case and better airflow. Check the contents list in the manual to make sure the connectors you need, such as SATA, CPU and PCIe, are included in the quantity required.
The EDGE hub
An included USB/fan hub module supports four devices and up to eight downstream connections. Lian Li describes it as suited to RGB controllers. It has six 4-pin connectors, each rated at 2A, and the brand says it works with any case, power supply or motherboard.
Magnetic dust filter
The front dust mesh attaches magnetically, so it can be lifted off and cleaned without tools. Lian Li says the mesh also helps keep the fan quiet.
Size
The unit measures about 7.2 x 3.4 x 5.9 inches (roughly 183 x 86 x 150 mm). The L-shaped body is unusual enough that it is worth checking your case's power supply bay and cable-routing space.
Who it suits
It suits builders putting together a high-wattage PC with a recent graphics card, particularly in a white or light-coloured case where the matching finish is a plus.
What to check before you buy
- Wattage: add up the rated power of your processor and graphics card and leave headroom. Many systems need much less than 1200W.
- Case fit: confirm the power supply bay can take the L-shaped body and the cable routing.
- Cables: check that the included connectors match your graphics card and motherboard.
- Connector seating: push the 12V-2x6 plug in fully, as the manual describes.
- Hub use: the hub needs connections as the manual describes, so read it before installing.
