The GMKtec NucBox K6 is a small desktop computer built around the AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS, a mobile processor with integrated Radeon 780M graphics. It measures only about 4.5 x 4.2 x 1.7 inches (11.4 x 10.7 x 4.3 cm) and weighs 0.8 lb (about 0.36 kg). It is configured with 32GB of DDR5 memory and a 2TB SSD.
Processor and graphics
The Ryzen 7 7840HS has eight cores and 16 threads, 16MB of L3 cache and a 3.8 to 5.1 GHz clock range, on the Zen 4 architecture and a 4nm process, according to GMKtec. It includes an AI engine. Zen 4 is a recent AMD generation, and mobile chips like this one are typically efficient for their performance.
Graphics come from the integrated Radeon 780M (12 cores, 2700 MHz, RDNA 3). Integrated graphics share system memory, and they can handle light to moderate gaming at modest settings, plus video playback and general use. GMKtec compares it with a GTX 1650 Ti class card, which is the brand's own comparison. The BIOS allows the power limit (TDP) to be set at 45W, 55W or 65W, and a dual fan system handles cooling.
Memory and storage
The mini PC has dual-channel DDR5-5600 memory in two SO-DIMM slots, with 32GB (2 x 16GB) installed and up to 64GB supported. Two M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 slots hold the 2TB SSD and an optional second drive, for up to 4TB in total according to GMKtec.
Displays and ports
It can drive three displays at once: HDMI 2.0 (up to 4K at 60Hz), DisplayPort 1.4 (up to 4K at 60Hz) and a USB-C port (40Gbps). That port supports USB4 and Thunderbolt 4-style output and accepts 100W power delivery input, per GMKtec.
Networking and wireless
Two 2.5GbE LAN ports make it suitable for networking projects, such as a small router, firewall or home server, as well as ordinary desktop use. Wi-Fi 6 (RZ616, up to 2.4Gbps with 2x2 MU-MIMO on 2.4 and 5GHz) and Bluetooth 5.2 are built in.
Warranty
GMKtec states a one-year limited warranty from the purchase date that covers design and workmanship defects.
Who it suits
It suits people who want a small desktop for office work, media, light gaming, multi-monitor setups or a home lab, and who value a small footprint.
What to check before you buy
- Operating system: check what's pre-installed and licensed.
- Monitors: confirm cables and adapters for HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C.
- Cooling and noise: compact machines with dual fans can be audible at full load.
- Power: check the supplied power adapter and your outlet.
- Upgrades: look at how you open the case for the RAM and SSD.
- Gaming expectations: integrated graphics have limits at high resolutions.
