The Enermax Revolution D.F. X 1200W (model ERT1200EWT) is a fully modular ATX power supply that Enermax certifies to Intel's ATX 3.0 standard. It is built for current graphics cards that use the 16-pin PCIe 12VHPWR connector, and it adds ARGB lighting.

What ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5 readiness mean

ATX 3.0 is Intel's updated power supply standard. Its main change is support for PCIe Gen 5 graphics cards, including the 16-pin 12VHPWR cable, which can deliver up to 600W to a single card. Enermax lists 600W 12VHPWR connectors on this unit. That removes the need for adapters from several 8-pin cables, which makes wiring simpler.

Power excursion handling

Modern graphics cards can spike briefly above their rated power. Enermax says its upgraded circuit design lets the supply reach 200% of rated output, so the 1200W model can stably provide 2400W for 100 microseconds. The standard requires supplies to tolerate these short spikes, so a system doesn't trip protection during sudden load changes.

80 Plus Gold efficiency

80 Plus Gold means the supply meets a set efficiency level at typical loads, which is a step below Platinum and Titanium. In practice, less power is lost as heat, so the fan has less to do. The full certification table is published by 80 Plus.

Semi-fanless operation

Enermax says the fan stays still while the system load is below 20%, so the supply is silent during light tasks such as browsing or office work. The fan starts as load rises. There is also an ECO mode, listed in the title.

Dust-free rotation

Enermax describes a self-cleaning feature: on power-up, the fan rotates so that it blows off dust that has collected around the blades and frame. Cases still need regular cleaning, and filters help.

Components and lighting

Enermax lists industrial-grade, 100% Japanese capacitors rated at 105°C, which it says deliver steady, dependable performance. The ARGB lighting can usually be controlled through a compatible motherboard header or controller, so check the manual. The warranty is listed as 10 years, subject to the warranty terms.

Size and cables

The listed size is 5.5 x 5.9 x 3.4 inches. Full modularity means you attach only the cables you need, which helps airflow and tidiness. Check cable lengths against your case.

Who it suits

It suits builders pairing a PCIe 5 or 12VHPWR graphics card with a modern platform, and those who like a quiet supply with lighting.

What to check before you buy

  • Wattage: add up your parts' draw and leave headroom. 1200W is a lot for many systems.
  • GPU connector: check whether your graphics card uses 12VHPWR or 8-pin connectors.
  • Case fit: confirm the supply fits the case and that cables reach.
  • Lighting control: check how the ARGB connects to your motherboard.
  • Wall circuit: follow local electrical codes and the manual, and unplug the unit before working inside the PC.

The short version

  • 1200W fully modular ATX 3.0 power supply, model ERT1200EWT.
  • 80 Plus Gold; 600W 12VHPWR connectors for PCIe Gen 5 cards.
  • 200% power excursion (2400W for 100 microseconds).
  • Semi-fanless below 20% load, with dust-free rotation.
  • 105°C Japanese capacitors, ARGB lighting, 10-year warranty.
