The DESLOC V150 Plus is a smart deadbolt that unlocks with your face, a fingerprint, an app, a voice command or a traditional key. It has built-in Wi-Fi and a solar panel that tops up its battery. This page explains how each feature works and what to check for your door.
Unlocking with 3D face recognition
DESLOC says the lock uses 3D face recognition with liveness detection. In general, 3D systems measure depth rather than just comparing a flat image, which helps them tell a real face from a photo or video. The brand says recognition works in daylight, at night and in backlit conditions, and that the lock is designed for users between 1.1 m and 2.3 m tall (3.6 to 7.5 ft). It supports up to 50 face profiles.
The curved fingerprint sensor
The fingerprint sensor follows the natural curve of a fingertip. DESLOC says the larger contact area allows faster, more reliable reads, and that the technology can identify worn, dry or shallow prints. Up to 50 fingerprints can be stored. Fingerprint sensors in general can struggle with very wet or dirty fingers, so a backup method is useful.
Other ways in
Besides face and fingerprint, the lock works with the DESLOC app, with voice control through Alexa or Google Assistant, and with an included mechanical key. Built-in Wi-Fi means no separate hub or bridge. Through the app you can manage access for family and guests, see activity history, receive notifications and lock or unlock remotely. DESLOC says facial and fingerprint data is stored locally on the lock rather than in the cloud.
Solar power and battery
A perovskite solar panel collects available light, and DESLOC says this works even on cloudy or rainy days. It works with a 10,000 mAh lithium battery and energy management to reduce how often you charge manually. Output from any solar panel depends on how much light reaches it, so a door in deep shade may see less benefit. Check where the panel sits relative to your entry.
Weather and temperature
The lock is rated IP65, which generally means dust-tight and protected against water jets. The listed operating range is -22°F to 158°F (-30°C to 70°C).
Fit and installation
DESLOC says it fits most standard North American doors, with these specifications:
- Door thickness: 1-3/8" to 2"
- Bore hole: 2-1/8"
- Backset: 2-3/8" or 2-3/4"
It detects left-hand and right-hand doors automatically, so no manual setup for handing is needed.
What to check before you buy
- Measure your door thickness, bore hole and backset against the figures above.
- Look at the light your door gets if you rely on the solar panel, and plan how you would charge it otherwise.
- Confirm you have a 2.4 GHz or compatible Wi-Fi signal near the door, as the lock connects directly.
- Think about who will use it. The face recognition height range is 1.1 m to 2.3 m.
- Check local rules and your insurer's or landlord's requirements before replacing a lock, and follow the installation manual.
The short version
- Smart deadbolt with 3D face recognition, curved fingerprint sensor, app, voice and key access.
- Solar panel plus a 10,000 mAh battery, with Wi-Fi built in and no hub.
- Stores up to 50 faces and 50 fingerprints, kept locally on the lock according to DESLOC.
- IP65 rated, for doors 1-3/8" to 2" thick with a 2-1/8" bore.
