The Blackview Airbuds 8 are true wireless earbuds with Bluetooth 5.3, hybrid noise cancelling and a charging case that extends playtime to 56 hours. Blackview designed them for music, calls and workouts, with an IPX7 water-resistance class and a lightweight semi-in-ear shape.
Sound and drivers
Each earbud has a 13mm dynamic driver with a triple-layer diaphragm. Blackview says this gives tighter bass and cleaner treble across music, calls and video. In general, a larger driver can move more air, which helps with low frequencies, but tuning matters as much as size.
Noise cancelling and microphones
The earbuds use hybrid ANC, which in general combines microphones outside and inside the earbud to reduce steady sounds such as engine hum or air conditioning. Blackview says it blocks steady background noise. It will not remove sudden sounds such as voices. Four ENC (environmental noise cancelling) microphones focus on your voice during calls, according to Blackview.
Battery and charging
Blackview quotes up to 8 hours on a single charge and 56 hours in total with the charging case. A 10-minute quick charge over USB-C adds 3 hours. Battery life varies with volume and whether ANC is on.
Bluetooth 5.3 and range
Bluetooth 5.3 is intended to give a more stable connection and lower latency. Blackview quotes a range of up to 49 feet (about 15 m) in open space. Walls and interference shorten that. For gaming or video, latency depends on the phone and apps as well as the earbuds.
Fit and comfort
Each earbud weighs 0.14 oz (about 4 g), and three sizes of soft tips are included. The semi-in-ear design is meant to stay light on the ear. Fit is personal, so try the tip sizes to get a secure seal.
Water resistance
IPX7 means the earbuds are designed to survive immersion in shallow water for a short time, so sweat and rain are fine. The IPX7 class applies to the earbuds, not necessarily the charging case, and water resistance can fade over time. Dry the earbuds and the charging contacts before charging.
Controls
Touch sensors handle skipping tracks, volume, calls and voice assistants such as Siri. Blackview lists compatibility with iPhone and Android phones and laptops.
Who it suits
They suit commuters, gym users and people who take frequent calls and want a light, pocketable case.
