The Baseus Bowie 30 Max are over-ear wireless headphones that combine active noise cancelling, spatial audio with head tracking, and a long battery life. They are aimed at commuting, travel and long listening sessions. This page explains what the main features mean and what to check before choosing them.
Hybrid noise cancelling
Baseus says the hybrid active noise cancelling system blocks up to 96% of outside noise, across a range from aircraft engines to office chatter. Hybrid systems generally use microphones both outside and inside the ear cup to pick up and cancel sound. Active cancelling is typically most effective on steady low-frequency sounds such as engine hum, and less so on sudden or high-pitched noises. The Baseus app lets you choose the noise cancelling level.
Head-tracking spatial audio
The headphones use Baseus BISA Pro acoustic technology, with built-in gyroscopes and accelerometers that follow your head movement. In general, head tracking keeps a sound source anchored in space: if you turn your head, a voice in a film stays where the screen is rather than turning with you. Baseus says this gives smooth, accurate tracking and a cinematic 3D effect. Results depend on the content and on how spatial audio is supported by your device.
Sound quality and LDAC
The headphones carry Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification and support the LDAC codec. LDAC is a Bluetooth codec that can send more data than the standard SBC codec, which in principle keeps more detail, but it needs a phone or player that supports it. Baseus says LDAC increases audio detail by three times compared with average audio.
Sound comes from 50mm drivers. Baseus says they give up to 200% deeper bass, and bass enhancement and a custom EQ can be set in the app.
Battery life in each mode
The listing gives three figures:
- Up to 31 hours with active noise cancelling and head tracking on
- Up to 50 hours with head tracking off
- Up to 65 hours in normal mode
A 10-minute charge gives about 14 hours of playback, according to Baseus. Actual runtime varies with volume and codec.
Calls, connection and controls
Baseus describes clear calls and uses Bluetooth 5.4. App control covers noise cancelling levels, EQ and bass enhancement. Check the manual for the physical controls and for multi-device connection.
Who it suits
These headphones suit frequent travellers, commuters, and people working in noisy open offices who want over-ear comfort and a long battery. Listeners who care about codec quality will want a source device that supports LDAC.
What to check before you buy
- Device support: confirm your phone or player supports LDAC and the app.
- Fit: over-ear headphones can be warm and large; check how they feel on your head, and whether they work with glasses.
- Spatial audio: it depends on the content and the app settings.
- Battery trade-offs: the longest figure is with noise cancelling and head tracking off.
- Wired use: check the manual if you want to listen with a cable.
- Case and size: see whether a carry case is included and how they fold.
