The Baseus 8-in-1 USB-C hub (model CAHUB-CV0G) turns one USB-C port into several. It adds HDMI video, wired Ethernet, three USB-A ports, memory card slots and a pass-through charging port. It is a small unit, about 5.2 x 1.7 x 0.6 inches (13 x 4.3 x 1.5 cm) and roughly 0.1 lb, so it travels easily with a thin laptop.
What the ports give you
Thin laptops, tablets and handheld PCs often have only one or two USB-C ports. This hub plugs into one of them and adds:
- an HDMI output for an external display or projector;
- a gigabit Ethernet port;
- three USB 3.0 ports;
- an SD card slot and a TF (microSD) slot;
- a USB-C port for power input.
Extra screen over HDMI
Baseus says the HDMI port supports 4K video, and its listing describes a 60Hz refresh rate. You can typically mirror your laptop screen or extend the desktop for a second workspace. The exact resolution and refresh rate you get depends on your device's USB-C video support (usually DisplayPort Alt Mode) and on the cable and display, so check your laptop's specifications.
Wired Ethernet
The Ethernet port is rated at 1000Mbps. A cable connection generally gives steadier speeds and lower latency than Wi-Fi, which helps for video calls, large downloads and situations where Wi-Fi is weak. Baseus also points to it as a fallback when a laptop's network card isn't working. Your real speed will still depend on your network and internet plan.
USB 3.0 and card readers
The three USB 3.0 ports are rated by Baseus at up to 5Gbps. That is enough for external drives, a keyboard, a mouse or a flash drive, though the total bandwidth is shared across the ports on the hub. The SD and TF slots read cards at up to 104MB/s according to the brand, which suits photographers and video editors who move files from a camera or phone card.
Pass-through charging
The USB-C power port accepts a charger so the laptop keeps charging while the hub is in use. The listing describes it as a 100W Power Delivery hub, with up to 85W delivered to the laptop, because the hub uses a little of the power itself. Baseus notes that no additional charging cable is included, so you need your own charger and cable. Check that your charger's output matches your laptop's needs.
Compatibility
Baseus lists MacBook, Surface, iPad and Steam Deck, along with other USB-C devices. Not every USB-C port supports video output or charging, so confirm that yours does.
Who it suits
It suits remote workers, students and travellers who want a single dongle for a desk setup: a monitor, wired internet, a few peripherals and a card reader.
What to check before you buy
- Video support: confirm your device's USB-C port can output video.
- Charger: you need your own charger and cable; none is supplied.
- Power needs: compare 85W pass-through to what your laptop requires.
- Port layout: with a single USB-C connection, the hub may crowd neighbouring ports on a slim laptop.
- Heat: hubs with many active ports can warm up; give it some airflow.

- USB-C power input, with up to 85W reaching the laptop.
- Compact and light, at about 0.1 lb.
