The ASUS ROG Loki SFX-L 750W Platinum is a fully modular power supply for compact PC builds. It uses the SFX-L format, which is smaller than a standard ATX unit but allows a larger fan than the basic SFX size. It is aimed at small-form-factor gaming systems that still need to feed a modern graphics card.

What SFX-L means for your case

Power supplies come in several physical standards. ATX is the full-size one found in most tower cases. SFX is much smaller, and SFX-L is a slightly longer version of SFX that leaves room for a bigger fan. Small cases are usually built around one of these formats, so the form factor is the first thing to match. Many SFX-L units can also be fitted into an ATX case with a bracket, but that depends on the case and the bracket, so check both.

80 PLUS Platinum efficiency

ASUS says the Loki is 80 PLUS Platinum certified, with efficiency of up to 92%. Efficiency is the share of the power drawn from the wall that reaches your components rather than being lost as heat. A higher figure typically means less waste heat, so the fan has less work to do. That matters in a small case where airflow is limited. The certification levels step up from Bronze through Silver, Gold and Platinum to Titanium.

Cooling and noise

The Loki uses a 120 mm fan with PWM control. ASUS calls the design Axial Tech: a smaller central hub that allows longer blades, plus a locking ring that increases air pressure towards the heatsinks. A bigger fan can move the same air at lower speed, which is generally quieter. ASUS also lists Lambda A+ certification, with a noise level under 20 dB, and says ROG heatsinks cover critical components to keep temperatures down.

ATX 3.0 and the 16-pin cable

The unit conforms to the ATX 3.0 guidelines and ships with a 16-pin PCIe cable that ASUS says can deliver up to 600W to PCIe Gen 5.0 graphics cards. In general, ATX 3.0 supplies are designed to handle the brief power spikes that recent high-end graphics cards can produce. The 16-pin cable lets a compatible card connect directly, without an adapter.

Modular cabling and lighting

Fully modular means every cable detaches from the unit, so you plug in only the ones your build uses. In a small case this makes a real difference, because unused cables take up space. The listing also mentions Aura Sync compatibility with an ARGB fan, which lets the lighting match other compatible ASUS components.

Who it suits

It suits people building or upgrading a compact gaming PC who want a 750W supply in the SFX-L format and a modern graphics-card connector.

What to check before you buy

  • Case support: confirm that your case takes SFX-L, not only SFX, and check the space for the fan side.
  • Graphics card: check which power connector your card uses and whether it needs the 16-pin cable.
  • Total power: add up the rated power of your processor and graphics card and leave headroom.
  • Cables: make sure the included cables reach your drives and components in a small case.
  • Lighting: confirm your motherboard supports Aura Sync if you want synchronised effects.
  • Manual: follow the installation steps in the manual and handle the unit only when it is unplugged.
