The ASUS ROG Loki is a 1200W power supply in the compact SFX-L format, built for small-form-factor PCs that still house a demanding graphics card. ASUS says it brings the components and features of its larger ROG Thor line into a case roughly 4.9 inches (12.4 cm) square, so a small build doesn't have to settle for a low wattage ceiling.

What SFX-L means for your case

Power supplies come in several physical standards. A full-size ATX unit is the common desktop choice, while SFX and SFX-L units are shorter and are made for compact cases. SFX-L is slightly deeper than plain SFX so that it can fit a larger 120 mm fan. The Loki measures 4.9 x 4.9 x 2.5 inches and weighs 4.7 lb (about 2.1 kg). Many small cases accept SFX-L directly; others take only SFX, or take an SFX unit with an adapter bracket, so the case's own specification matters.

What 80 PLUS Titanium tells you

80 PLUS is a certification programme that measures how much of the power drawn from the wall reaches your components rather than being lost as heat. Titanium is the highest tier. ASUS lists up to 94% efficiency for the Loki. In general, a more efficient unit wastes less energy as heat, which means the fan has less work to do and the unit can run quietly for a given load.

Quiet running and cooling

ASUS pairs a 120 mm PWM fan with dual ball bearings, which it says can last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs. ROG heatsinks cover critical components, and ASUS says the lower temperatures help lifespan and noise.

The unit also has what ASUS calls 0dB technology, meaning the fan is designed to stay off at lighter loads so a machine used for light gaming or everyday tasks can be near silent. It carries a Lambda Standard ++ certification, which ASUS describes as certified noise levels below 35 dB.

ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0 graphics cards

The Loki is compliant with ATX 3.0 guidelines. This revision of the standard was written with modern graphics cards in mind, which can draw brief power spikes well above their rated figure. It also introduced a 16-pin connector for PCIe Gen 5.0 cards. ASUS bundles 16-pin PCIe cables that can carry up to 600W to those cards, so no adapter is needed for cards that use the newer connector. Cards that use older 8-pin connectors need separate cables, so check what the unit includes.

Fully modular cabling and lighting

Fully modular means every cable detaches from the unit. You connect only what the build needs, which leaves less clutter inside a tight case and makes airflow easier to manage. In a small chassis, cable volume is often the biggest practical problem.

The fan has addressable RGB lighting that works with Aura Sync, ASUS's system for synchronizing lighting across compatible parts. If your case has no window, you may never see it.

Warranty

ASUS covers the Loki with a 10-year warranty. As with any warranty, the terms and registration steps are worth reading in the paperwork.

Who it suits

It suits people building a compact PC with a high-power graphics card, and anyone who wants a quiet, efficient unit with a high wattage ceiling in an SFX-L size. A small, light-use machine may not need 1200W, but headroom also lets the unit sit in a comfortable part of its efficiency curve.

What to check before you buy

  • Case compatibility: confirm the case supports SFX-L, not just SFX, and check the clearance around the fan.
  • Graphics card connectors: confirm whether your card uses the 16-pin connector or 8-pin connectors, and that the included cables match.
  • Total power draw: add up your processor and graphics card requirements, and leave some headroom.
  • Cable length: compact cases usually need short cables to route cleanly; check against your case layout.
  • What's in the box: check which cables and accessories are included.
