The Anker 623 Magnetic Wireless Charger (model A2568), part of the brand's MagGo line, is a small charging stand that powers an iPhone and a pair of earbuds at once. A magnetic pad holds the phone, a second pad takes the earbuds, and one cable runs to the wall. It is meant to replace a tangle of cords on a desk or bedside table.
How the magnetic charging works
The phone pad uses magnets to snap an iPhone into position, so the coil lines up with the phone's. Wireless charging is based on induction: a coil in the charger creates a changing magnetic field and a coil in the phone picks it up. Alignment matters because poorly aligned coils charge slowly or not at all, which is why a magnetic mount is useful. Anker lists support for iPhone 13 and 12, and its title names the iPhone 14 and 13 families as well.
Charging two devices at once
Anker says the stand charges an iPhone and earbuds simultaneously from a single base. The earbuds pad suits models that charge wirelessly, such as AirPods Pro with a wireless case. Check that your earbuds' case supports wireless charging before you rely on it.
Adjustable angle
The phone platform flips up to a maximum of 60°, and the phone can be attached horizontally or vertically. This lets you use it as a stand for video calls, a clock-style display on a bedside table or a screen you can glance at while working.
Size and base
Anker says the station is 40% smaller than a soda can; the listing gives about 2.5 x 2.5 x 3.1 inches (6.4 x 6.4 x 7.9 cm) and 0.9 lb (about 0.4 kg) with its accessories. A non-slip base keeps it from sliding, and an LED indicator shows charging status. Anker describes the light as sleep-friendly.
What's in the box
The set includes the Anker 623 charger, a 20W USB-C charger, a 5 ft (1.5 m) USB-C to USB-C cable, a welcome guide and a 24-month warranty with customer service. A supplied wall charger matters because wireless charging speeds depend on the power adapter behind them.
Wireless charging in practice
Wireless charging is typically slower and warmer than a cable. Cases also affect it: thin cases usually work, while thick, metal or wallet-style cases can get in the way. Follow the manual and the phone maker's guidance for compatible cases.
Who it suits
It suits iPhone owners who also use wireless earbuds and want one tidy spot for both, such as a desk, a bedside table or a hallway shelf. It is less useful if your earbuds don't charge wirelessly or you use an Android phone without magnetic charging.
What to check before you buy
- Phone model: confirm your iPhone supports magnetic wireless charging.
- Earbuds: make sure the case supports wireless charging.
- Case: check it is compatible with magnetic chargers.
- Outlet and cable: the USB-C charger and cable are included, but you need a nearby socket.
- Angle and placement: think about where the phone will sit.
