The WYBOT C1 (model OS7010C) is a battery-powered robotic cleaner for in-ground swimming pools. It moves along the floor and walls by itself, collecting debris in a filter basket, so you spend less time with a manual vacuum. Because it has no power cord, there is no cable to tangle.

How it cleans

WYBOT says the C1 has a triple-motor design with an independent water pump motor, giving a maximum filtration rate of 2,642 gallons per hour (about 10,000 litres per hour). Dual PVC brushes grip the surface and loosen sand, leaves and dirt. Wall climbing lets it clean the vertical surfaces and the waterline as well as the floor.

In its default mode, WYBOT says the cleaner allocates its time sensibly, starting with the walls and then moving to a deeper clean of the floor. Other modes are available for particular areas.

Path planning

Two types of route are described: a cross-path pattern for floors, and a regular climbing path for walls. Sensors and gyroscopes let the robot map the pool and cover it methodically. Systematic patterns typically leave fewer missed patches than random movement, though pools with unusual shapes or steps can still need a second pass.

Battery and charging

WYBOT lists 120 to 150 minutes of continuous runtime and about three hours for a full charge. A cordless design depends on its battery, so match runtime to your pool size. The brand says the cleaner is designed for in-ground pools up to 65 ft (about 20 m) in length and water depth of 9.8 ft (3 m).

Filtering and upkeep

Large top-loading filter cartridges trap debris. To clean them, open the front cover, remove the filter basket and rinse it with a garden hose. Emptying the basket after each run typically keeps flow strong, and brushes eventually wear, so check whether replacement parts are available. WYBOT also lists a two-year warranty and a 30-day return period.

Size

The cleaner measures about 16 x 11 x 18 inches (roughly 41 x 28 x 46 cm). Check how you will lift it from the water, since it holds water when it comes out, and where you will keep it and the charger.

Who it suits

It suits owners of in-ground pools who want routine floor, wall and waterline cleaning with less effort, and who prefer a cord-free machine. It is described for in-ground pools, so check the listing carefully if yours is above-ground.

What to check before you buy

  • Pool type and size: in-ground, up to 65 ft long and 9.8 ft deep as stated.
  • Pool surface: confirm the brushes suit your liner, tile, concrete or fibreglass.
  • Debris load: heavy leaf fall may need more frequent basket emptying.
  • Charging: plan a dry spot near an outlet for the roughly three-hour charge.
  • Lifting: check weight and handling when wet.
  • Care: follow the manual on rinsing, drying and putting away the unit, and on pool chemicals.

The short version

  • A cordless robotic cleaner for in-ground pools up to 65 ft.
  • Triple-motor design with up to 2,642 GPH filtration and dual PVC brushes.
  • Cleans floor, walls and waterline with two path-planning patterns.
  • 120 to 150 minutes of runtime; about three hours to recharge.
  • Top-loading filters rinse clean with a hose.
