The WYBOT C1 is a cordless robotic cleaner for inground swimming pools. It drives itself around the pool, scrubbing the floor and walls and collecting debris in a filter you rinse out afterwards. It is aimed at pool owners who would rather not push a manual vacuum or manage a long power cable. Here is what the main specs mean.
Cordless cleaning and runtime
WYBOT says the C1 runs for 120 to 150 minutes on a charge and recharges in about three hours. Cordless means there is no floating cable to tangle or to lift out of the water, but it also means the run time is limited by the battery. In general, a longer runtime matters most for larger pools, where the robot needs time to cover everything. The brand rates the cleaner for inground pools up to 65 feet (about 20 metres) long and water depth of 9.8 feet (about 3 metres), and quotes coverage of up to 1,614 square feet (about 150 square metres).
Suction, brushes and filtering
The C1 has an independent water pump motor with a maximum filtration rate of 2,642 gallons per hour (GPH). That figure is the brand's number for how much water the pump can move; it doesn't describe how clean any particular pool will get. Two PVC brushes grip the surface and loosen sand, leaves and finer dirt as the robot travels. The listing says it works on the floor, walls and waterline.
Navigation and cleaning modes
WYBOT describes "4-in-1" smart navigation using sensors and a gyroscope to map the pool. There are two path types: an S-shaped path for systematic floor coverage, and a regular wall-climbing path. In the default mode, the robot allocates its time on its own, starting with the walls and then moving to a deeper clean of the floor. The aim of mapped, methodical paths is fewer missed patches than random movement, which is typical of older robotic cleaners. An app is also supported.
Emptying and rinsing the filter
The filter cartridges are large, top-loading units. To clean them, you open the front cover, lift out the filter basket and rinse it with a garden hose. Rinsing after each run is generally a good habit, as clogged filters reduce water flow and cleaning performance.
Size and handling
The C1 weighs 23 pounds (about 10.4 kg) and measures roughly 16 by 12 by 18 inches (41 by 30 by 46 cm) as listed. That is a two-handed lift, especially when the filter is wet and holding water. Many owners lift robots out using a handle or a lifting aid, and the manual covers how to do it correctly.
Who it suits
It suits owners of inground pools who want regular, hands-off cleaning of the floor, walls and waterline without a power cord. It is not described for above-ground pools, so check the listed pool type carefully.
What to check before you buy
- Pool type and size: confirm that you have an inground pool within the 65 ft and 9.8 ft limits.
- Surface: check the manual for which pool finishes (vinyl, tile, concrete, fibreglass) it supports.
- Debris load: heavy leaf fall may mean emptying the filter more often, so consider how much debris your pool collects.
- Charging place: you need a dry, shaded spot with power near the pool.
- Lifting: make sure you can lift 23 lb plus the weight of water.
- Parts and care: check availability of replacement filters and brushes, and follow the manual's storage advice, especially over winter.
The short version
- A cordless robotic cleaner for inground pools.
- 120-150 minutes of runtime, about 3 hours to recharge.
- Rated for pools up to 65 ft, depth 9.8 ft, and coverage of 1,614 sq ft.
- Cleans floor, walls and waterline using sensor-guided S-shaped or wall-climbing paths.
- Top-loading filter cartridges rinse clean with a garden hose.
