The Worx Nitro 40V WG751.3 is a battery-powered push lawn mower. It replaces a petrol mower for smaller and mid-sized yards, with no fuel, no pull cord and quick starts. Worx says it suits lawns from about a quarter to half an acre.
Two batteries make 40V
The mower runs on two 20V 4.0Ah Power Share batteries working together to give 40V, and the kit includes both along with a dual charger. Worx says the PRO batteries are designed to stay cool and resist impact and heat damage. The 4.0Ah figure is capacity, and runtime in practice depends on grass height, how wet it is and the cutting mode.
One battery system across many tools
The same batteries fit more than 140 tools, outdoor equipment and lifestyle products in the Power Share platform, according to Worx. If you already own compatible tools, you can share batteries between them. If not, the batteries are a base to build on.
Bag, mulch or side-discharge
Three modes are on offer. Bagging collects clippings for a tidy finish. Mulching, using the supplied plug, chops clippings finely and returns them to the lawn. Side discharge throws clippings out of a chute. Worx says the discharge spreads them far and doesn't clog the steel deck. The kit includes a collection bag, mulch plug and side-discharge chute.
Cutting height and storage
A single lever sets one of seven cutting heights between 1.5 and 4.25 inches (about 3.8 to 10.8 cm). Taller settings are commonly used in summer heat, and shorter ones in cooler, wetter seasons. The handle collapses fully, so the mower can be kept upright in a small space. An onboard charge-level indicator shows the remaining battery. The listing gives its size as 38.2 x 15.0 x 22.4 inches and its weight as 62.4 lb (about 28 kg).
Why battery power appeals
Worx points to the lack of fuel, oil changes, noise and exhaust emissions compared with a petrol mower, and says the mower starts in seconds. In general, battery mowers are quieter and need less routine upkeep, though the batteries eventually wear and need replacing. Keeping them charged and out of extreme heat or cold usually helps them last.
What to check before you buy
- The cutting width. The listing refers to both a 20-inch and a 14-inch mower, so confirm the deck size in the manual or on the packaging.
- Your lawn's size, against Worx's quarter to half acre guidance.
- Whether one charge is enough for your yard, or whether you would swap batteries mid-job.
- Terrain. A 62.4 lb mower is a push model, so slopes need effort.
- Where you will charge and keep the batteries, and how much shelf or wall space the mower needs.
- Eye and foot protection, and the safe-use steps in the manual.
