The SENIX LSPG-L6-001 is a walk-behind lawn mower with a 144cc petrol engine and a 21-inch cutting deck. You push it, and the engine drives the blade. It's aimed at homeowners with a medium to large lawn who want a self-contained machine with no cord or battery to manage.

What the 144cc four-stroke engine means

Engine size in cubic centimetres describes the volume the cylinder sweeps, and in general a larger figure means more torque for thick or damp grass. SENIX calls this a 4-cycle engine with its "4QL" lubrication technology and says you don't need to mix oil and petrol. That is normal for four-stroke engines, which keep oil in a separate sump, unlike two-stroke engines that need a pre-mixed fuel.

A four-stroke engine still needs its oil level checked and changed on a schedule, so read the manual for the oil type and the intervals. SENIX says the engine gives steady torque on large lawns and slopes.

A 21-inch deck and two ways to handle clippings

The cutting width is 21 inches (about 53 cm), a little wider than the 20-inch decks many push mowers use. A wider deck covers more ground per pass, which usually means fewer passes across a big lawn.

The deck is described as 2-in-1: you can collect clippings or throw them out of the side. Collecting suits a tidy lawn and keeps clippings off paths. Side discharge is quicker on longer grass and doesn't stop you to empty a bag. The listing's title also mentions mulching, so check the manual to see which parts are included and how to fit them.

Wheels and handling

The front wheels are 8 inches and the rear wheels 11 inches. Larger rear wheels typically roll more easily over bumps and soft ground, and give better grip on slopes. SENIX says this combination improves traction and stability and reduces fatigue on uneven ground.

The mower weighs 45 pounds (about 20 kg) and measures roughly 32.8 x 22.7 x 14.8 inches (83 x 58 x 38 cm). That is light for a petrol mower, which helps with lifting it into a vehicle or turning it at the end of a row. As a push mower, it relies on you to provide the forward motion.

Six cutting heights

Cutting height has six positions, from 1.25 to 3.75 inches (about 3 to 9.5 cm). Cutting higher in summer generally helps grass cope with heat and dry spells, while a lower setting suits spring and a tidier look. As a general guide, avoid removing more than about a third of the blade height in one mow.

Assembly and warranty

The mower comes with a manual for assembly, and SENIX offers a 2-year warranty. Petrol mowers usually ship with the handle folded and without oil or fuel, so allow time for setup and for filling the oil before the first start.

Who it suits

It suits owners of medium to large lawns, including lawns with gentle slopes, who prefer petrol power. It's less suited to very small yards, where a lighter electric model may be easier to put away, or to people who would rather not handle fuel and oil.

What to check before you buy

  • Lawn size and shape: a 21-inch deck is wide for narrow gates and tight beds.
  • Storage: confirm you have room for a 33-inch-long machine, and a safe place for fuel.
  • Upkeep: plan for oil changes, air filter checks, blade sharpening and spark plug replacement as the manual describes.
  • Clipping handling: decide whether you'll collect, mulch or discharge, and check what's in the box for each.
  • Local rules: some areas limit petrol equipment or noise hours. Follow your local rules and the safety instructions in the manual.

The short version

  • A walk-behind petrol mower with a 144cc four-stroke engine and no fuel mixing.
  • 21-inch deck with 2-in-1 collection and side discharge.
  • 8-inch front and 11-inch rear wheels, six cutting heights from 1.25 to 3.75 inches.
  • About 45 lb (20 kg), with a 2-year warranty from SENIX.
