The VEVOR 10x10 ft pop-up canopy is a folding shade shelter with a steel frame, a fabric roof and sidewalls that attach and detach. It gives a covered spot of about 100 square feet (9.3 square metres) for a backyard party, a market stall, a campsite or a patio, and it packs into a wheeled bag.
Setting it up
The frame arrives assembled. VEVOR says you take it out of the bag, open it, fit the cover and extend the legs, and that setup takes about a minute. As with any pop-up canopy, it is easier with two people, because the frame is large when open. The bag has a separate pocket for eight medium ground nails and four ropes, which keeps the anchoring parts together.
Height and floor area
There are three adjustable heights, with a maximum internal height of over 9 ft (about 2.7 m), enough to stand under easily. VEVOR says the canopy comfortably holds six to eight people. That is a rough guide: with tables and chairs, the usable number will be lower.
What the fabric offers
The cover is 500D PU-coated silver fabric. The "D" is denier, a measure of thread thickness, and a higher number usually means a heavier, tougher cloth. VEVOR lists:
- UPF 50+ sun protection, a classification indicating the fabric blocks most ultraviolet light;
- CPAI-84 flame-retardant standard, a common standard for tents and canopies;
- added edging on the top cover;
- waterproof stickers on all sides, which VEVOR says let rainwater slide off instead of pooling.
PU-coated fabrics shed rain well, but seams and zips are where leaks usually start, so check them when you set up.
Removable sidewalls
The sidewalls attach with velcro. With them off, the canopy is an open shade shelter with good airflow. With them on, it becomes an enclosed space that helps against wind, low sun and light rain. VEVOR describes the velcro join as seamless and quick to fit or remove. Sidewalls act like sails in the wind, so a pop-up canopy needs proper anchoring with the supplied nails and ropes, or weights on hard ground.
Carrying and storage
The storage bag has wheels, and the packed size is 63.4 x 9.8 x 9.8 in (about 161 x 25 x 25 cm), which VEVOR says fits most vehicle trunks. The listing weight is about 48 lb (21.8 kg), so lifting it into a car is a job for two for many people.
Where it fits
VEVOR suggests camping, patios, backyard parties, picnics, parking a car, setting up a stall and barbecues. A canopy is a shade structure, not a replacement for a building, so take it down in strong wind and storms. Keep any heat source and open flame well clear of the fabric and follow the manual.
What to check before you buy
- Footprint: a 10 x 10 ft canopy needs a flat, clear area a bit larger than that for the ropes.
- Surface: nails suit grass and soil. On concrete or decking you will need weights.
- Weight and boot space: check the packed size against your vehicle.
- Sidewalls: confirm how many are included and which sides they cover.
- Rules: some parks, markets and campsites limit canopy size or anchoring methods.
- Care: dry the cover fully before packing it to avoid mildew, as the manual describes.
