The BLUETTI Apex 300 is a large portable power station built around a 2,764.8Wh lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery. It is meant for backup power at home, for RVs and for off-grid sites, giving you AC outlets without a fuel-burning generator. This page explains what its figures mean and what to think about before choosing a unit this size.
What 2,764.8Wh and 3,840W mean
Watt-hours (Wh) describe how much energy the battery holds. Watts (W) describe how much it can deliver at once. With 2,764.8Wh, a 100W load, such as a laptop and a few lights, could in theory run for well over a day, while a 1,500W appliance would drain the battery in under two hours. Real runtimes are typically somewhat shorter because of conversion losses.
BLUETTI rates the continuous AC output at 3,840W, with a 7,680W surge. Surge capacity matters because motors in refrigerators, pumps and air conditioners draw much more power for a moment when they start than when running.
Six outlets and dual voltage
The Apex 300 has six AC outlets, and BLUETTI says it can supply 120V and 240V at the same time. Most portable stations offer 120V only. A 240V output is what larger loads, such as some RV air conditioners, well pumps and EV chargers, are usually built for. BLUETTI says the six outlets can power RV ovens and air conditioners directly, without a shore-power hookup.
Ways to charge it
The listing describes three routes: - Solar: 2,400W with the built-in input, expandable to 6,400W. - AC: BLUETTI says it reaches 80% in 45 minutes from a wall outlet. - Generator: the listing says it is compatible with 95% of generators.
A car charging cable is also included. Solar charging speed depends on panel size, sun angle and weather, so the rated figures are best-case numbers.
Battery chemistry and lifespan
LiFePO4 cells are known for long cycle life and stable behaviour compared with other lithium types. BLUETTI quotes more than 6,000 cycles to 80% capacity and a 17-year lifespan, and says the unit passed 33 extreme tests and holds CNAS certification. These are the brand's figures; actual life depends on how it is used and stored.
Expanding the system
BLUETTI says two or three units can be paralleled for 5.5 to 8.3kWh, and capacity can grow to 58kWh with the B300K. The listing also mentions black start, which means the station can power up and deliver output without existing grid power. Expansion needs the matching BLUETTI accessories, so check what each setup requires.
Size and weight
It measures 20.7 x 12.9 x 12.6 inches (about 53 x 33 x 32 cm) and weighs 66.1 lb (about 30 kg). That is portable in the sense of being movable, but it is a two-handed lift, and many people will leave it in one spot and run cables to it.
Who it suits
It suits homeowners planning for outages, RV owners who want to run large appliances away from a campground hookup, and off-grid cabins or work sites that need AC power with solar. It may be more than needed for phones, laptops and small camping loads.
What to check before you buy
- Your loads: add up the running watts and the starting surge of the appliances you want to power.
- Voltage: confirm whether your devices need 120V, 240V or both.
- Solar: check panel connector and voltage compatibility with the input.
- Home use: connecting to a house circuit should follow local electrical codes and the manual, and may need a qualified electrician.
- Weight and placement: make sure you can move it and give it airflow.
- In the box: the power station, AC charging cable, car charging cable, grounding screw and user manual.
The short version
- A 2,764.8Wh LiFePO4 power station with six AC outlets and 3,840W output (7,680W surge).
- Simultaneous 120V and 240V output, plus black start.
- Charges from solar (2,400W built in), AC or a generator.
- BLUETTI quotes 6,000+ cycles and expansion up to 58kWh.
- About 66 lb (30 kg); follow the manual and local codes when wiring it to a home.
