The Auxbeam BL03 is a pocket-sized electric pump for bike tires. It reaches up to 120 PSI, stops by itself at the pressure you set, and weighs 129 g, so it can replace a hand pump on rides and at home. Here is what its numbers mean for road, mountain and city bikes.
How the auto stop works
You set the target pressure on the digital display with the plus and minus buttons, and the pump runs until it gets there, then shuts off. That prevents overfilling, which is easy to do with a small hand pump that has no gauge. Auxbeam gives the gauge an accuracy of ±1 PSI.
The pictures show modes with pressure ranges for different bikes: 5-20 PSI for fat bikes, 5-60 PSI for mountain bikes, 10-95 PSI for city bikes and 30-120 PSI for road bikes, plus a manual mode from 0 to 120 PSI. The right pressure depends on the tire, the rider's weight and the conditions, so the range printed on the tire's sidewall is the first thing to check.
Speed and battery
A brushless motor drives the pump. Auxbeam says it fills a 700x23C tire to 80 PSI in 40 seconds. That size is a narrow road tire on a standard 700c wheel, which holds a small volume of air; wider mountain and fat bike tires hold much more air, so they take longer even at lower pressures.
The built-in battery is 1000mAh, and it recharges with the included USB-C cable. Auxbeam's picture gives about 20 top-ups of a 700x23C tire from 80 to 100 PSI on one charge, or about 8 fills from 0 to 100 PSI. Auxbeam also notes that a slight noise while it runs is normal, because the motor spins at high speed.
Valves and adapters
The pump works with Presta and Schrader valves. Presta valves are the slim type common on road bikes, with a small lock nut that you unscrew before inflating; Schrader valves are the wider type also used on car tires and common on mountain and city bikes. According to the pictures, the orange nozzle is set up for Presta and the black nozzle for Schrader.
A Dunlop adapter covers the third common valve type, found on some city bikes, and a ball needle lets you top up sports balls such as soccer balls and basketballs. A flexible hose helps when the valve sits in an awkward spot, and Auxbeam says the hose connection stays stable with TPU inner tubes as well.
Size and carrying
The BL03 measures about 2.8 x 1.8 x 1.2 inches (7 x 4.6 x 3 cm) and weighs 129 g (0.28 lb). Auxbeam says it fits in a pocket or backpack, and the pictures show it in a frame bag. A storage bag is included to keep the adapters together.
Who it suits
It suits road, mountain and e-bike riders and commuters who want a small pump for roadside fixes and quick pressure checks before a ride. Auxbeam says it is not designed for car tires. On longer rides, it makes sense to carry a spare tube or patch kit as well, since a pump alone won't fix a puncture.
What to check before you buy
- Valve type: confirm your bikes use Presta, Schrader or Dunlop valves.
- Pressure: check the range on your tire sidewalls; the pump tops out at 120 PSI.
- Tire size: expect longer fill times for wide mountain or fat bike tires.
- Charging: plan to charge it over USB-C before rides.
- Use: keep it for bikes and balls, not car tires.
