The YOSUDA E03 is a foldable elliptical machine made for homes where floor space is limited. Folded, it takes up about 2 square feet and stands against a wall or in a corner, so it doesn't need a room of its own. Here is what its specifications mean before you clear a space for it.
Size, weight and folding
The listing gives its size as about 36.6 x 21.7 x 61.4 inches (93 x 55 x 156 cm), and it weighs 66 lb (about 30 kg). Folded, YOSUDA puts its footprint at about 2 sq ft (roughly 0.2 m²). Folding and unfolding each take three steps, so putting it away after a session is part of the routine rather than a project.
At 66 lb, it's worth deciding in advance where it will stand when folded, ideally close to where you use it.
How magnetic resistance works
Resistance comes from magnets acting on the flywheel without touching it, so there are no friction pads to wear, and the motion is designed to stay smooth and quiet. Contactless magnetic systems are generally quieter than friction-based ones, which matters in apartments and shared homes.
There are 16 resistance levels, from light to heavy, and YOSUDA lists a 12 lb (about 5.4 kg) flywheel. You can pedal forward or in reverse.
Stride length and user height
The stride is 15 inches (about 38 cm). Stride length is how far the pedals travel from front to back, and it's one of the main differences between compact and full-size ellipticals: longer strides typically suit taller users. YOSUDA lists the E03 for users up to 5 ft 9 in (about 175 cm), so taller users may find the movement short.
Stability and weight capacity
Four independent stabilizers under the frame help level the machine and reduce wobble, and the pedals are non-slip. The maximum user weight is 350 lb (about 159 kg).
The monitor and tablet holder
The monitor shows six readings: time, speed, distance, calories, odometer and pulse. Calorie figures on home exercise machines are estimates, so they are best treated as a rough guide. A built-in holder keeps a phone or tablet in view while you use the machine.
Setup
It arrives 95% pre-assembled. You attach the pedals, the handlebars and the monitor following the included instructions, which YOSUDA says takes about 25 minutes, and YOSUDA support can help with setup or use questions.
Who it suits
It suits people in apartments or smaller homes who want an elliptical that folds away between uses, within the listed limits of 5 ft 9 in in height and 350 lb in weight.
What to check before you buy
- Your height: YOSUDA lists users up to 5 ft 9 in; taller users may find the 15-inch stride short.
- Space: allow for the machine's footprint in use and about 61 inches of height, plus your own height standing on the pedals.
- Weight: at 66 lb, plan where it will be folded and stored.
- Floors: a mat under the machine helps protect hard floors and carpet.
- Assembly: the pedals, handlebars and monitor need attaching.
