The Waterdrop WD-TS2PPCTUF is a set of replacement cartridges for Waterdrop's under-sink ultra-filtration system. It is a consumable part for an existing unit, not a stand-alone filter. This page explains what each stage does, how long Waterdrop says each lasts and what to confirm before ordering.
What it fits
Waterdrop lists compatibility with its Under-Sink Ultra Filtration System, models WD-TSU-B and WD-TSU-W. Check the model number on your unit first, because this set is named for that system only.
The three stages
The listing's code, 2TSPP, TSUF, TSCT, describes three kinds of cartridge:
- PP (pre-sediment) filter: Waterdrop says it reduces sand, rust and suspended solids and lasts about six months. As the first stage, it generally takes the larger particles so the later filters stay unclogged.
- CT (carbon block) filter: said to reduce most chlorine, taste and odour, for about 12 months.
- UF (ultra-filtration) filter: listed for about 24 months. Waterdrop says the combined PP, UF and CT filters reduce contaminants larger than 0.01 μm.
What ultra-filtration means
Ultra-filtration (UF) uses a membrane with very fine pores, typically around 0.01 to 0.1 micron. Particles larger than the pores are held back, while water passes through. A micron is one-thousandth of a millimetre, so 0.01 μm is extremely small. UF membranes physically screen particles. They generally do not change dissolved minerals or salts in the way reverse osmosis can, so they work differently from an RO system.
Service life
Waterdrop's figures are six months for the sediment filter, 12 months for the carbon block and 24 months for the UF filter. They are estimates, since actual life depends on water quality and household use. Many manufacturers advise changing sooner if the flow slows down. As the filters have different lifespans, you may only change some of them at each service.
Changing the cartridges
The brand says a filter swap takes about three seconds with a single twist and needs no tools. Turn off the water supply first and follow the manual, including flushing new cartridges before drinking from the tap.
Size
Each cartridge is about 3.3 x 3.3 x 10.6 inches. Check there's room beneath the housing to remove and insert them.
Who it suits
It suits owners of a Waterdrop WD-TSU unit who want to follow the maker's replacement schedule. Owners of other systems should not buy it unless their model is listed as compatible.
What to check before you buy
- Model match: confirm WD-TSU-B or WD-TSU-W.
- Which cartridges you need: because lifespans differ, check which stages are due.
- Date tracking: note the install date of each filter.
- Your water: a filter reduces certain things and not others. For specific concerns, look for certifications and consider a water test.
- Clearance: measure the space under the sink.
- Flushing: follow the manual after installation.
The short version
- A replacement set for Waterdrop WD-TSU-B and WD-TSU-W ultra-filtration systems.
- PP, carbon block and ultra-filtration stages.
- Brand-stated life: about 6, 12 and 24 months respectively.
- Reduces particles larger than 0.01 μm, according to Waterdrop.
- Tool-free twist fitting.
