The VEVOR LT4-77 is a built-in, four-burner radiant cooktop with a smooth glass-ceramic surface. It is 24 inches wide and runs on 220-240V. VEVOR lists up to 6000W of total power, touch controls and a set of protective features.
Radiant, not induction
A radiant ceramic cooktop heats elements beneath the glass, and the glass and pan warm up together. Induction cooktops differ: they heat the pan magnetically and need magnetic cookware. VEVOR says the LT4-77 works with aluminium, copper, cast iron and non-magnetic stainless steel pots. In general, flat-bottomed pans make the best contact with a glass surface, and a warped pan heats unevenly.
Burners and power
The four zones are rated 1200W, 1800W, 1200W and 1800W. VEVOR says all four can run at the same time. Nine heat levels cover simmering through frying, and the brand lists stewing, steaming, boiling and grilling. Running every zone at full power draws a lot of current, so the supply circuit matters.
Touch controls and timer
A sliding touch panel lets you swipe or tap to set heat. The four burners are independent, and a 1-99 minute timer is built in, along with a pause button. A glass touch panel is easy to wipe clean, though it typically needs dry fingers to respond well.
Protection features
VEVOR lists five protections:
- Automatic shut-off for overflow
- A residual heat warning
- A child lock that stops accidental use
- Overheat protection at 600°C (1112°F)
- No high-frequency radiation
Residual heat is worth taking seriously on any glass cooktop: the surface stays hot after the burner is off, so wait for the indicator to go out before cleaning or touching it.
Built-in installation
The LT4-77 drops into a countertop cutout of 22 x 19.3 inches. The cooktop itself measures 23.2 x 20.5 inches and is 2.0 inches high, and weighs 18.7 lb (about 8.5 kg). VEVOR gives its voltage as 220-240V at 60Hz. Because it is hard-wired, an electrician or qualified installer will typically be needed, and local electrical codes and the manual should be followed. Check the clearance required beneath the counter and around the unit.
Who it suits
It suits kitchen renovations and replacements where a compact 24-inch built-in cooktop fits, and cooks who already have, or prefer, aluminium, copper or non-magnetic pans. It is also an option for smaller kitchens, apartments and secondary kitchens.
What to check before you buy
- Electrical supply: confirm that you have a suitable 240V circuit and cabling for the 6000W total.
- Cutout: measure your counter against the 22 x 19.3 inch cutout.
- Cookware: use flat-bottomed pans; check the manual for pan sizes and materials to avoid.
- Cleaning: glass-ceramic surfaces need non-abrasive cleaners, as the manual describes.
- Installation: have it fitted by a qualified person where local codes require.
