The VEVOR 20-tier bun pan rack (model LHPR-20R) is a tall, rolling aluminium rack for full-size and half-size sheet pans. It gives bakeries, restaurants and caterers one place to cool, hold and move many trays at once, using floor space instead of counter space. Here is what its capacity, materials and wheels mean in practice.

How many pans it holds

The rack has 20 tiers. Each tier takes one full-size pan of 18 x 26 inches (about 46 x 66 cm) or two half-size pans of 13 x 18 inches (about 33 x 46 cm), so a full load is 20 full-size or 40 half-size pans. These are the standard sheet pan sizes in North American commercial kitchens, and many kitchens use both.

The tiers are about 3 inches (7.5 cm) apart. That suits trays of rolls, cookies, pastries and other low items, while taller food, such as cakes in deep pans, may need every other slot.

Load capacity: total versus per tier

VEVOR gives a total load capacity of 530 lb (about 240 kg) and up to 75 lb (34 kg) on any single tier. The two limits work together. Twenty tiers at 75 lb each would far exceed the total, so when every tier is in use, the average works out to about 26 lb (12 kg) per tier. A few heavy pans are within the limits as long as the whole rack stays under 530 lb. Keeping the heaviest pans on the lower tiers is a common way to keep any tall rack steady.

VEVOR also says its wider wheels help the rack carry more weight.

Aluminium alloy construction

The rack is made of aluminium alloy. Aluminium doesn't rust the way plain steel can, which matters in kitchens where racks are washed often and hold moist dough or condensation. VEVOR describes it as corrosion-resistant and easy to clean and maintain.

Aluminium also conducts heat well, which VEVOR highlights for holding freshly baked goods as they cool. The metal is light for its size, too: the whole rack weighs about 30 lb (13.7 kg).

Wheels, brakes and the fixed option

The rack rolls on swivel wheels, and the two rear wheels have brakes. That makes it easier to move a full rack from the bench to the oven or a cooling area, then lock it in place out of the way.

The wheels are optional. If you'd rather have a rack that stands fixed, for example as permanent shelving in a back room, you can leave them off during assembly.

Size and assembly

It measures 26 x 20.4 inches (66 x 52 cm) across and stands 70 inches (178 cm) tall, so it fits against a wall or in a corner without taking much floor space.

Assembly follows the included instructions. VEVOR advises having a hex wrench ready before you start.

Who it suits

It suits bakeries, restaurants, caterers and other food businesses that work with many sheet pans and need to cool, hold or move them in batches. Home bakers who bake in large quantities may find it useful too, if they have the floor space and the height for a 70-inch rack.

What to check before you buy

  • Your pans: confirm they're standard full-size (18 x 26 in) or half-size (13 x 18 in).
  • Height and clearance: at 70 inches, check doorways, ceilings and the route it will roll along.
  • Tier spacing: about 3 inches between tiers limits how tall the food on each pan can be.
  • Load: plan for 530 lb in total and 75 lb per tier.
  • Floor and wheels: decide whether to fit the wheels, and check your floor is level where the rack will stand.
  • Local requirements: for a business, check what your local health authority expects of food-service equipment.

The short version

  • A 20-tier rolling aluminium rack for 20 full-size or 40 half-size sheet pans.
  • 530 lb total capacity, up to 75 lb per tier, with about 3 inches between tiers.
  • Corrosion-resistant, easy-to-clean aluminium alloy that conducts heat well.
  • Swivel wheels with two rear brakes; the wheels can be left off.
  • 26 x 20.4 x 70 inches; assembly needs a hex wrench.
