The VEVOR HC-2000Y is an electric grain mill and spice grinder with a stainless steel body and a 2000g capacity. It turns dry ingredients such as grains, spices and coffee beans into powder, and it is meant for home kitchens as well as small commercial use. Its main difference from many grinders is the swing design, which lets you tilt the body to pour.
What the swing design does
Most pulverizers are upright, and you lift the whole unit to empty it. On this model the body swings through 270°, so you can tip the grinder to pour out the powder without picking it up. VEVOR also says that gently swinging it while it runs helps produce a more even, finer powder. If the result is too coarse, the brand suggests sieving out the larger particles and grinding them again.
Motor, blades and fineness
VEVOR rates the motor at 3400W and 32,000 revolutions per minute. A high-speed motor like this shreds material by impact rather than crushing it between stones, which is how many traditional mills work. The three-layer blade has a crushing blade, a horn blade and a powder removal blade. VEVOR says it takes about 30 seconds to grind dehydrated food into fine powder, and it gives a fineness range of 30 to 300 mesh. Mesh numbers count the openings per inch in a sieve, so a higher number means a finer powder.
A display lets you set and read the grinding time.
What it can grind
VEVOR names grains (soy, corn, barley, wheat, oats, rye, peas and coffee beans) and spices (fennel, pepper, cinnamon and rosemary). It is clear that the machine is not suitable for wet, fresh, oily or sticky materials. In general, oily items can clog high-speed blades, so ingredients need to be properly dried first.
Operating limits
VEVOR gives these figures and tips:
- Operation time of 5 minutes, then an interval of 10 minutes (the tips say to rest 5 to 10 minutes after every 5 minutes of use).
- Fill the jar so the material covers the long blade, but stay under two-thirds of the jar; about half is described as ideal.
- The lid must be fully buckled before the machine will start.
- Don't wash the grinding tank with water directly; clean it with a dry cloth or brush.
Safety features
The lid uses a buckle structure that VEVOR says seals well, and the machine stops automatically when the lid is opened. An overload protector is also listed, which works automatically if the machine is overloaded. As with any appliance of this power, follow the manual, and keep hands and utensils out of the jar.
Size and weight
The unit measures 9.1 x 9.4 x 15.0 inches (about 23 x 24 x 38 cm) and weighs 15.4 lb (about 7 kg). It is compact for its power but heavy enough to sit steadily on a counter.
What to check before you buy
- Your electrical supply. 3400W is a large load, so confirm that your outlet and circuit suit it, and that the plug and voltage match your region.
- The materials you plan to grind. Only dry ingredients are suitable.
- Noise. High-speed grinders are typically loud, so consider when you will use it.
- Cleaning. A dry-clean-only tank suits dry powders, but it takes a brush and some care.
- Batch size. 2000g is the maximum capacity, but the jar should not be filled past two-thirds.
The short version
- A 3400W, 32,000 rpm swing-type electric grinder with a 2000g capacity.
- Handles dry grains and spices to a 30 to 300 mesh fineness, according to VEVOR.
- Stainless steel body, lid-open stop and overload protection.
- Run it for 5 minutes at a time, then rest it for 10.
