The VEVOR FR900K is a horizontal continuous band sealer. Bags travel along a conveyor through a heated sealing zone, so you can close plastic, foil and similar bags quickly and in a uniform way, instead of sealing them one at a time with a hand-held impulse sealer. It is aimed at small production runs, packing tables and workshops.

How a band sealer works

A band sealer moves the open end of a bag between two belts. The belts carry it past a heating block, which melts the film, and then a cooling block, which sets the seal while the bag is still held flat. Because the bag keeps moving, the seal is a continuous line, and the conveyor does the work of holding it in place. A hand-held sealer, by contrast, has to be pressed and timed for each bag.

VEVOR says this machine has an automatic conveyor belt along with its cooling and heating blocks, and that together they keep the sealing steady.

Temperature, speed and sealing width

Different films need different heat and different dwell time. Thin film seals at lower temperatures, thick or laminated film needs more heat or a slower pass. The FR900K has a thermostatic control, a heat-seal switch and a speed knob for this.

  • Power: 600W.
  • Temperature range: 32–572°F (0–300°C).
  • Speed: 0–16 m/min (about 52 ft/min).
  • Film thickness: VEVOR gives 0.02–0.8 mm for a single film.
  • Sealing width: the specification list gives 6–12 mm, while the feature text mentions 6–15 mm, so confirm the figure that matters to you.

Printing while sealing

The machine comes with an embossing wheel and a type wheel, which can press a date, a short remark, a description or a logo into the seal as the bag passes through. VEVOR also lists a stripping wheel and a smooth wheel as compatible options, which change the texture of the seal. Printing at the seal is a common way to add batch or date information without a separate labelling step.

Build and materials

The body is carbon steel with an electrostatic spray finish, and VEVOR says a DC copper motor drives the conveyor. The Teflon conveyor belt is 0.2 mm thick and 15 mm wide, and the conveyor belt width is 100 mm (about 3.9 in). The maximum load on the belt is 5 kg (about 11 lb), which is plenty for light pouches but a limit to keep in mind for heavier contents.

What it seals

VEVOR lists plastic bags, aluminium-foil bags, compound (laminated) bags and paper bags, with uses in food, pharmacy, agriculture and industrial packing. Whether a particular bag will seal well depends on its inner layer. Films that melt and fuse, such as polyethylene, seal readily. Bags with a coating that doesn't fuse can be a poor match, so a small test with your own bags is the sensible first step.

Size and weight

The product size is about 21.9 x 13.6 x 10.4 in (555 x 345 x 265 mm), and the machine weighs about 21.7 lb (9.85 kg). Plan for a stable bench at a comfortable height, with enough room at both ends for bags to enter and leave.

Who it suits

It suits small businesses, home producers who pack in volume, and workshops that seal many similar bags in one session. If you only seal a few bags now and then, a hand-held sealer takes less space.

What to check before you buy

  • Bag material and thickness: make sure your film falls inside the stated thickness range and will fuse under heat.
  • Seal width: confirm the sealing width you need against the specification.
  • Power: check the supply voltage and plug for your location.
  • Bench space and weight: the unit needs a firm, level surface.
  • Print wheels: check which wheels are in the box and which are optional.
  • Upkeep: the Teflon belts are wear parts, so check how replacements are supplied.
  • Use: follow the manual on warm-up, ventilation and keeping hands clear of the belts and heating block.

The short version

  • A 600W horizontal continuous band sealer with a conveyor, heating and cooling blocks.
  • Temperature up to 300°C, speed up to 16 m/min, film 0.02–0.8 mm.
  • Embossing and type wheels print dates or logos as it seals.
  • Carbon-steel body, about 9.85 kg.
  • Best for repeat packing runs, not occasional single bags.
