The VEVOR AMX-PWFEC120-08 is a small wall-mounted fan with an 8.5-inch head, an 11W DC motor and a remote control. It frees up floor and desk space, and it moves air across a room from a high position. VEVOR suggests it for homes, offices and RVs.

The DC motor

DC motors typically use less power than AC motors at similar airflow, and they allow finer speed control. VEVOR says the 11W motor reduces power use while providing steady output and stable speed. The fan has seven blades, which the brand says spread air evenly, create a gentle breeze and keep blade noise low.

Airflow and oscillation

VEVOR quotes an air delivery distance of 10 ft (about 3 m). The head oscillates 90 degrees left and right, controlled by remote, and tilts 120 degrees up and down by hand. With a wall fan, the mounting height matters, as the breeze should clear furniture and reach where people sit. VEVOR adds that it works well alongside an air conditioner to move cool air around a room, which is a common use for a fan.

Remote control

A magnetic remote is included, with a range of up to 20 ft (about 6 m). It sticks to a fridge or other metal surface for storage, so it is easy to find. Four speeds are available: low, medium, high and strong.

Timer and noise

The four timer options are 0.5, 1.5, 4 and 8 hours, so the fan turns itself off. VEVOR gives the sound level as about 35 dB at the lowest speed, which it says suits reading, meditating or sleeping. A decibel figure for the lowest setting is the quietest reading, and louder speeds will produce more sound.

Mounting and splash resistance

The fan is rated IPX2, which VEVOR describes as splash-resistant for light spills and easy to wipe clean, for indoor or covered areas. IPX2 is a low protection level, so it should not be treated as weatherproof. The brand says it can be installed on concrete, solid brick or thick wood walls. For a patio, VEVOR advises keeping it out of direct rain and adding a shield in semi-open spaces. Size and weight are small: about 11.4 x 8.5 x 3.3 inches and 2.0 lb (around 0.9 kg).

Who it suits

It suits bedrooms, offices, small apartments, garages and RV interiors where a pedestal or desk fan takes up too much room. It is less suited to cooling very large spaces, given its 8.5-inch head.

What to check before you buy

  • Wall type: confirm that your wall can take the fixings, and use suitable anchors.
  • Power: check for a nearby outlet and how the cord will run.
  • Mounting height: choose a spot where the airflow clears obstacles.
  • Room size: compare the 10 ft air delivery with your room.
  • Location: keep it dry and follow the manual for any covered outdoor use.
  • Upkeep: wipe the guard and blades after unplugging the fan.
