The VEVOR FWHB-162224 is a countertop hot box for holding cooked food at serving temperature. It has four shelves, a single door and a water tray, and it is aimed at food service settings where dishes are prepared ahead and need to stay warm until they are served. It measures 22.8 x 16.7 x 23.7 inches (about 58 x 42 x 60 cm) and weighs 39.2 lb (about 17.8 kg).
What a food warmer cabinet does
A holding cabinet keeps food warm after cooking; it is not meant to cook or reheat from cold. Food that sits uncovered on a counter cools and dries out, so a closed, heated cabinet helps manage timing during busy service. VEVOR lists pizza, cooked meats, pasta and fried foods among the uses, as well as fermenting yogurt and drying fruit and vegetables.
Temperature range and heating
VEVOR gives an adjustable range of 80°F to 177°F (about 27°C to 80°C), with real-time temperature tracking. The heating uses PTC elements, a type of self-regulating heater that tends to hold a steady temperature without overheating. A 360° hot-air circulation system is described as spreading warmth evenly through the cabinet, so shelves at the top and bottom hold a similar temperature.
Safe holding temperatures for hot food are set by local food safety rules, so check what applies where you work and compare it with the range here.
The water tray
The dual-purpose water tray adds moisture to the air in the cabinet. VEVOR says this stops food from hardening or burning, so dishes keep their flavour and texture. In general, humidity helps foods like breaded chicken or pastry only up to a point; very crisp items can soften in a humid space, so you may use the tray differently for different foods.
Shelves and capacity
There are four shelves, each with 3.94 inches (10 cm) of height and able to hold one full-size 1/1 GN (Gastronorm) pan. Gastronorm is the standard pan size system used in commercial kitchens, so existing pans are likely to fit, though check the pan depth against the 10 cm shelf spacing. The shelves are removable, which gives room for taller items.
Build and door
VEVOR describes thickened 201 stainless steel, which it says resists deformation. 201 is a common stainless grade in food equipment; it is typically a little less corrosion-resistant than 304, so dry the cabinet after cleaning. A magnetic door is intended to seal tightly and hold heat in. The unit is designed to sit on a counter or the floor.
Where it fits
VEVOR names restaurants, schools, corporate cafeterias and food trucks. It can also suit catering, bakeries with a pickup counter, or events where food is prepared in one place and served in another.
What to check before you buy
- Space and weight: confirm the counter or floor spot and the power outlet you will use.
- Pan size: make sure your pans are full-size Gastronorm and low enough for the 10 cm shelf spacing.
- Temperature needs: compare the 80-177°F range with the food safety rules for your setting.
- Power: check the electrical specification in the manual against your circuit, and the plug type.
- Cleaning: look at how the door seal, water tray and shelves are cleaned and what products are advised.
- Food types: think about which of your dishes keep best in a humid, warm space.
