The VEVOR SKT1/1*1 is a 1500W electric steam food warmer, also called a bain marie or steam table. It keeps cooked dishes warm on a buffet line or catering table, using heated water to hold temperature gently.
What a bain marie does
A bain marie holds food pans over hot water. The water heats the pans indirectly, which in general warms food more gently than direct heat and reduces scorching on the bottom. Food should go in already hot, because a warmer is meant to hold temperature rather than reheat large amounts of cold food.
This model has a stainless steel heating tube rated at 1500W. VEVOR says it heats quickly and evenly, and that the temperature can be set from 86°F to 185°F (30°C to 85°C), so you can suit different dishes and serving needs.
Pans and depth
The warmer comes with four 1/3-size food pans. Pan sizes in this system are fractions of a standard full-size pan, so four 1/3-size pans let you serve different dishes side by side, such as a sauce, a rice dish and two sides. VEVOR lists a standard depth of 5.9 inches (about 15 cm), which it says gives extra room for bigger batches at parties and events. Check that pan sizes match any spare pans or lids you already own.
Overheat stop
A built-in protection stops the heater when the temperature passes 248°F (120°C), which usually means the water has run low. VEVOR says to refill with water and press the reset button to use it again. It also warns against pouring in ice water, which it says can damage the heating tube. In practice, that means checking the water level through service and topping up with warm water.
Cleaning
VEVOR describes the surface as smooth and nonstick, so grease and stains wipe off, and says the parts detach for thorough cleaning. Let the unit cool and follow the manual before cleaning, and keep electrical parts away from water.
Size and weight
It measures 29.1 x 14.0 x 10.6 inches (about 74 x 36 x 27 cm) and weighs 22.5 lb (about 10 kg). It is long and low, so it sits comfortably along a buffet table and can be carried by one person.
Who it suits
It suits caterers, restaurants, church halls and party hosts who serve several hot dishes for a few hours. It can also work for family gatherings where the oven and stove are busy.
What to check before you buy
- Table space and power: confirm the length fits your table, and that the outlet can carry a 1500W appliance.
- Number of dishes: four 1/3-size pans suit small buffets; larger events may need more units.
- Water level: plan to monitor and top up water during service.
- Food safety: check local rules on hot-holding temperatures and times.
- Extra pans and lids: confirm what comes in the box before ordering spares.
