The Tineco Floor ONE Switch S7 is a cordless floor cleaner that can both vacuum and wash. Tineco describes it as a five-in-one machine for wet messes, dry debris and sticky stains, so one tool can replace a vacuum and a mop on hard floors.

Switching between washing and vacuuming

Tineco says the SwitchPro motor lets the machine move between floor-washing and vacuum modes, aimed at whole-house cleaning including kitchens and bathrooms. In general, wet-dry cleaners spray fresh water onto a rotating roller, which scrubs the floor while a second tank collects the dirty water. That means you pick up liquid spills and dry crumbs in the same pass, rather than sweeping first and mopping afterwards.

The brand also lists attachments for soft surfaces, crevices and high-reach spots. Check the box contents for exactly which ones come with it.

Clean water on the brush

Tineco calls its washing system MHCBS. According to the brand, a scraper component recycles dirty water away from the roller, and the roller is constantly washed with fresh water at 450 times per minute. The practical idea is that the roller doesn't spread the dirt it has just picked up back across the floor.

The ZeroTangle brush

Long hair and pet fur tend to wrap around ordinary brush rolls. Tineco says its ZeroTangle brush is designed to avoid that wrapping, which should make the roller easier to clean afterwards. It lists the brush as suited to both long and short hair.

FlashDry self-cleaning

After use, the FlashDry system runs 158°F (70°C) fresh water through the pipe and over the brush roller to dissolve stains. It then dries the parts with sealed 158°F air. Tineco adds that the roller turns in both directions and uses centrifugal air drying to leave the brush fluffier and drier, and that this reduces odours. A damp roller left sitting is a common source of smells in wash-and-vacuum machines, so a drying step is a useful feature to look for.

Battery

The listing gives a runtime of up to 65 minutes and says an upgraded pouch cell extends the battery's lifespan by 200%, or roughly three times compared with other batteries. Runtime on any cordless cleaner depends on the mode and power level you choose, so treat the figure as a maximum.

Size and weight

It measures 12.2 x 12.8 x 44.1 inches (about 31 x 33 x 112 cm) and weighs 34.4 lb (about 15.6 kg). That is heavy for a stick-style cleaner, although self-propelled wheels on most wash-and-vacuum models take much of the load off your arms. Check the product details for how this one drives.

Who it suits

It suits households with hard floors, kitchens and bathrooms, and pets that shed, where wet and dry messes both turn up regularly.

What to check before you buy

  • Floor types: check the manual for the floors the brush roller and water are suitable for, especially sealed wood and rugs.
  • Weight and storage: at about 15.6 kg, confirm you can carry it up stairs and have room for the base.
  • Tank sizes: look at how much clean and dirty water the tanks hold for the size of your home.
  • Upkeep: check how often the filter and roller need replacing and what parts are available.
  • What's in the box: confirm the attachments and cleaning solution, if any, that are included.
