The Tineco A30S is a cordless stick vacuum for everyday cleaning of carpets and hard floors. It pairs 160W of suction with a runtime of up to 60 minutes, a 1-litre dust bin and a brush designed to resist hair tangles. Here is what its specs mean in daily use.
Suction and cyclone design
Tineco lists 160W of suction, which it says picks up dust, debris and pet hair on both carpets and hard floors. Suction wattage is a figure supplied by the brand, and real cleaning results also depend on the brush head, the floor type and how full the bin is.
The A30S uses what Tineco calls PureCyclone technology. Cyclonic designs spin air so heavier dust and debris separate from it and drop into the bin before reaching the filter. Tineco says this helps prevent the pre-filter from clogging, so suction stays strong as you clean.
Runtime
Tineco says the A30S can run for up to 60 minutes on a charge, enough for a whole-house clean for many homes. The brand marks that figure with an asterisk, and runtimes on cordless vacuums are generally measured in the lowest power mode. Higher power settings and motorised brush heads typically shorten it, so expect less in intensive cleaning.
Dust bin
The bin holds 1 litre, which Tineco says is 150% bigger than the one on its A10 model. A larger bin means fewer trips to empty it, which matters if you have pets or are cleaning several rooms. Check the manual for how to empty the bin and how often to clean the filters.
ZeroTangle brush
The floor head has a ZeroTangle brush. Tineco's name for it suggests a design that keeps long hair from wrapping around the roller. Hair wrap is a common nuisance on stick vacuums with pets or long-haired family members. Even with a design like this, it is worth checking the roller from time to time.
An LED headlight on the cleaner head lights up the floor, which helps you see dust under furniture and in dim corners.
Five-stage filtration
The vacuum has a five-stage filtration system. Tineco says it captures up to 99.97% of dust and debris as small as 0.3 microns. Filtration claims like this describe the brand's own measurement, and results depend on the filters being clean and properly fitted. Washable or replaceable filter details are in the manual.
Size and weight
Dimensions are listed as 10.2 x 13.6 x 46.4 inches (about 26 x 35 x 118 cm) as assembled, with a weight of 10.1 lb (about 4.6 kg). That is typical for a full-size stick vacuum. Check that you're comfortable lifting it for stairs or above-floor cleaning.
Who it suits
It suits households that want a cordless vacuum for daily upkeep in apartments and houses, particularly with a mix of hard floors and carpets, or with pets. It is for those who prefer a stick to a corded upright.
