The PETKIT EVERSWEET MAX is a pet water fountain that runs on a rechargeable battery instead of a power cord. It holds 3 litres (101 fl oz), keeps water moving for cats or small dogs, and connects to an app that logs how much your pet drinks. Because there's no cord, it can sit wherever is most convenient.
Going cordless
PETKIT fits a 5000mAh battery and says it can run for up to 83 days between charges. That figure depends on settings and use, so treat it as the brand's figure rather than a promise. Without a cord, you can move the fountain between rooms, and it keeps working if the power drops out. If the water runs low, the pump stops automatically, which PETKIT says protects it from running dry.
Capacity
Three litres is large for a pet fountain. PETKIT says a full tank gives about a week's supply for two cats or one dog, which means fewer refills in a multi-pet home or when you're away briefly. Real use varies with the animal's size, diet and the weather.
Flow modes and the motion sensor
You can choose continuous flow or an intermittent mode. Moving water appeals to some cats more than still water, and an intermittent mode can reduce noise and energy use. In the app you can also turn on the motion sensor. When your pet comes within about 3.94 inches (10 cm), the water flows for one minute, which PETKIT says encourages drinking.
Filtration
The fountain has a multi-layer filter in a one-way recirculation system. PETKIT says it filters out hair, sediment and dirt. As with any filter, it needs replacing on a regular schedule, and the app sends reminders for filter changes and cleaning.
App tracking
The PETKIT app records drinking times and frequency and produces weekly and monthly summaries. It is a handy way to notice changes in routine. If you have questions about a pet's drinking, ask a vet; the app is not a diagnostic tool.
Noise and cleaning
PETKIT rates the sound at under 25 dB, which is very quiet, so it's suitable for a bedroom. The tank is removable and the wireless pump lifts out, so there is no cord to untangle when cleaning. Regular washing of the tank is generally recommended for any pet fountain.
Who it suits
It suits households with cats or small dogs that like running water, and owners who want a fountain without a cord trailing across the floor.

- App: check that your phone works with the PETKIT app.
