The Euhomy compact dryer is a small front-load electric clothes dryer that runs on a standard 110-volt supply and includes an exhaust pipe. It is aimed at apartments, dorms and other places where a full-size dryer will not fit. Here is what its specs mean and what to confirm for your own space.

Capacity and heat

Euhomy lists the drum at 3.5 cubic feet, with a capacity of 26.4 lb (about 12 kg) of wet clothes. The heating element is 1500W, and the maximum temperature is 140°F (60°C). A lower temperature than a full-size vented dryer typically means longer cycles, but it is gentler on many fabrics. Euhomy advises using it after spin-drying, since removing water in a washer first gives better results.

Four drying modes

The LCD panel offers four modes, which Euhomy describes this way:

  • Strong: for drying larger items quickly.
  • Intelligent: adjusts drying time according to humidity, for all kinds of items.
  • ECO: for deodorizing and drying small pieces.
  • Normal: for clothes that need ironing, or small items.

Humidity-sensing modes usually stop earlier than a fixed timer, which can reduce wear on clothes.

Drum and tumbling action

The stainless steel drum has a "front and back flip" function, which means it turns in both directions. Euhomy says this keeps clothes from tangling, helps remove wrinkles and shortens drying time. Reversing drums are common on modern dryers for these reasons.

Door, filter and handle

The door opens to 105°, and a transparent window shows the load. If the door is opened mid-cycle, the dryer stops automatically. A cotton filter catches lint, and a handle lets you move the unit. Lint filters should be cleaned regularly, as the manual describes.

Venting and installation

The dryer comes with an exhaust pipe, so moist air has to be directed outdoors, for example through a window, as the manual explains. Venting matters for any electric dryer, because moisture and lint build up if the air stays in the room. It can sit on a countertop or firm, level floor, or be mounted with a bracket, though the bracket is not included.

Size and weight

The unit measures about 25.8 x 22.8 x 30.9 inches (66 x 58 x 78 cm) and weighs 55.1 lb (about 25 kg). It plugs into a standard outlet. Check the manual for the circuit it needs, and follow local electrical codes.

Certifications

The listing says the dryer carries ETL and DOE certifications.

Who it suits

It suits renters, students and anyone short of space who wants to dry a small load at home. People with large families or heavy loads will find a full-size dryer faster.

What to check before you buy

  • Venting: confirm you can run the exhaust pipe to a window or vent.
  • Space: measure the area, including room behind the unit for the hose and for airflow.
  • Power: check the outlet and circuit, since a 1500W heater is a significant load.
  • Load size: 26.4 lb is a wet-clothes figure; large bedding may not fit.
  • Upkeep: clean the lint filter often.
  • Mounting: a bracket is sold separately, if you want to wall-mount it.

The short version

  • A compact front-load electric dryer, 3.5 cu ft, 1500W, 110 volts.
  • Four modes: Strong, Intelligent, ECO and Normal, with an LCD panel.
  • Two-way tumbling stainless drum; maximum temperature 140°F.
  • Exhaust pipe included; the door stops the cycle when opened.
  • About 55 lb, with ETL and DOE certifications listed.
