The VEVOR ZLCK-A1 is a roll of black PVC flooring with a diamond-plate pattern, made to cover a garage floor, workshop, trailer or similar space. It protects concrete from tyre marks and fluids, gives a surface with more grip, and can be wiped clean. It comes as a single roll rather than interlocking tiles.
Size and coverage
The roll is 7.5 ft by 17 ft (2,280 x 5,200 mm), which VEVOR gives as 127.5 sq ft. The brand says that is enough for a mid-size or compact SUV, a sports car, motorcycles or a golf cart, and that it also suits warehouses, trunks and sidewalks. VEVOR itself advises measuring first. A standard single garage bay is often wider than 7.5 ft, so the roll may cover the parking strip rather than the whole floor.
The roll weighs 61.7 lb (about 28 kg), so moving it into place is easier with two people.
What 2.2 mm PVC means
Thickness is a rough indicator of how well a mat resists wear and pressure. VEVOR describes the 2.2 mm PVC as heavy-duty, saying it withstands trailers, trucks and heavy vehicles without deformation. PVC is a flexible plastic, which is why a roll like this can be rolled out flat and trimmed. Like most plastic flooring, it is a surface covering, not a repair for damaged concrete.
The diamond pattern
The raised diamond pattern is designed to reduce slipping and improve traction, including in wet conditions, according to VEVOR. In general, textured surfaces grip better underfoot but can take a little more effort to sweep than a smooth one.
Cleaning
The mat is waterproof PVC and, VEVOR says, resists dirt, mud, vehicle fluids and chemicals. It can be cleaned with a vacuum, mop or damp cloth. Spills such as oil should be wiped promptly, and the manual's advice on cleaning products is worth following.
Laying and cutting
Double-sided tape is included to hold the mat in place. VEVOR describes installation as laying it out flat and cutting it to any shape with scissors or a utility knife. Typically, a roll that has been stored tightly wound benefits from being unrolled in advance so it can relax before trimming and taping. Clean, dry concrete helps tape adhere.
Who it suits
It suits anyone who wants to protect a garage floor under a parked car or motorcycle, or add a non-slip surface in a workshop, gym corner or trailer. People with an uneven or damp floor should consider how tape will behave there.
What to check before you buy
- Floor dimensions: measure the area and compare it with 7.5 x 17 ft.
- Vehicle weight and tyres: confirm that the mat suits what will park on it.
- Floor condition: concrete should be clean, dry and reasonably flat before taping.
- Door clearance: check that the thin mat will not catch at the garage door or threshold.
- Handling: plan for two people to move the 61.7 lb roll.
- Temperature: PVC can stiffen in cold weather, so check the manual for laying conditions.
