The VEVOR 0.5TP is a transmission jack adapter: a steel tray that fits onto a suitable floor jack so it can hold a transmission, drive shaft or axle while it's removed or installed. It's an accessory, not a complete jack, so everything depends on matching it to the jack you already own.

What it is and what it fits

The adapter has a 1.2 inch (30 mm) shaft. VEVOR states it is only compatible with floor jacks that have a 1.2 inch removable saddle shaft. It is not suitable for high-lift transmission jacks. Before anything else, check your jack's saddle: if the saddle doesn't come off or the shaft diameter is different, this adapter won't fit.

Load capacity

VEVOR gives its capacity as 1100 lbs (500 kg) and says it's built of heavy-duty steel. VEVOR describes it as suitable for transmissions, drive shafts and axles. The adapter is only one link in the chain, so the floor jack's own stated capacity and condition matter just as much. Work to the lowest capacity of anything in the setup and keep the load well within it.

Adjustable tray

The tray rotates 360 degrees and tilts up to 30 degrees, according to VEVOR. Both help when lining up a transmission with the engine or bell housing, because the angle often doesn't match the way the jack sits on the floor. Fine adjustment typically means less shoving and levering during fitting.

Adjustable width and claws

The plate width adjusts from 8.5 to 11.8 inches (215 to 300 mm), and the claw width from 5.1 to 13.6 inches (130 to 345 mm). The low-profile design is intended to fit various transmission sizes. Measure the transmission case or pan you plan to support against these ranges, since a wide cast case may exceed them.

Safety chains

Two heavy-duty chains come with the adapter, each 31.5 inches (800 mm) long. They wrap around the transmission to hold it to the tray, which VEVOR says helps stability when moving a large unit. Chains don't make an unsafe lift safe, though, so position the load centrally before taking weight.

Size and weight

The listing gives dimensions of 15.4 x 13.0 x 11.0 inches (about 39 x 33 x 28 cm) and a weight of 19.4 lb (about 8.8 kg). It's heavy enough to feel solid, but it can still be stored on a shelf in a home garage.

Using it with care

General workshop practice applies. Work on a level, solid floor. Support the vehicle on rated jack stands, never on a jack alone. Keep out from under the load wherever possible, and follow the manuals for your vehicle, jack and adapter. Local rules and the vehicle manufacturer's service procedures take priority over general advice.

Who it suits

It suits home mechanics and small repair shops that already own a floor jack with a removable saddle and want to handle transmission jobs without buying a dedicated transmission jack. It's less appropriate for lifts that need high-lift reach.

What to check before you buy

  • Saddle shaft: confirm your jack has a removable 1.2 inch (30 mm) saddle shaft.
  • Jack capacity and height: make sure the jack's capacity and lift range suit the vehicle.
  • Transmission size: compare your transmission's width with the plate and claw ranges.
  • Fastening: check that the chains are long enough for your unit.
  • What's included: confirm the contents and any assembly instructions.

  • Adjustable plate (8.5-11.8 in) and claw (5.1-13.6 in), with two 31.5 inch chains.
