The VEVOR TJD-7000S is a square-tube trailer tongue jack rated by VEVOR for 8000 lb. It is welded directly to the trailer tongue and uses a handle to raise or lower the front of the trailer when you hitch or unhitch. VEVOR lists it for travel trailers, horse trailers, utility trailers and boat trailers.
What the jack does
A tongue jack supports the front of a trailer when it is not attached to a tow vehicle. Winding the handle lifts the coupler off the hitch ball, or lowers it back down onto the ball. The same jack can also level a parked trailer from front to back. VEVOR says the multi-level adjustment helps keep the trailer level on uneven ground.
Reading the 8000 lb figure
The 8000 lb figure is the load capacity VEVOR gives. Tongue weight is normally only a fraction of the trailer's total weight, often around 10 to 15 percent for many trailers, so the figure leaves room on typical setups. Check your trailer's tongue weight and the manufacturer's guidance rather than assuming. A jack is a support device and not a stand for working under a trailer; use proper stands for that.
Height range
VEVOR gives a minimum retracted height of 24.88 inches and a lifting range of 9.65 to 24.64 inches. The headline lift is 15-1/4 inches. VEVOR says it suits both high-profile and low-profile trailers. Measure the height from the ground to your tongue while the trailer sits level, and compare it with the jack's range, so the jack can reach the ground and still clear the hitch ball.
Square tube and drop leg
The jack has a square tube design and an adjustable drop leg. The drop leg lets the lower section be set at different positions, which extends reach on taller tongues. Its size is listed as 8.0 x 8.0 x 24.9 inches, and it weighs 23.4 lb.
Materials and finish
VEVOR describes the jack as heavy-duty carbon steel with a galvanized inner tube and powder finish for corrosion resistance. Galvanizing adds a zinc layer, and powder coating gives a hard painted surface. Both slow rust, which matters on a part that sits low and takes road spray.
Installation
This is a direct weld-on model, with the installation parts included according to VEVOR. Welding should be done on a suitable mounting plate or tongue section by someone competent, following the manual. If you aren't confident welding structural trailer parts, have a professional do it.
What to check before you buy
- Confirm the tongue's shape and size suits a weld-on square jack.
- Measure your height range with the trailer loaded and level.
- Check your trailer's tongue weight and rated capacities.
- Verify who will weld it and whether local rules require inspection.
- Plan for wheel chocks and safe parking when raising or lowering the trailer.
