The VEVOR S10000 is a 12V electric winch for vehicle recovery. Mounted on the front of an SUV, pickup or Jeep, it pulls the vehicle (or another one) out of mud, sand or a ditch using a steel rope. It is rated at 10,000 lb, and the kit includes the fairlead, hook, power cables and two remote controls.
Pulling force and motor
VEVOR gives the rated pull as 10,000 lb (about 4,500 kg). The 3HP motor drives a 265:1 three-stage planetary gear set. A planetary gearbox is a compact way to multiply torque, and the high ratio is what turns a modest motor speed into a slow, strong pull on the rope. VEVOR says the motor runs for long periods without overheating, though any winch benefits from rests during long pulls, as the manual describes.
A winch's stated capacity applies to a single, straight pull on the first layer of rope. As more rope winds onto the drum, the effective pull usually drops. Rolling resistance and slopes change the load too, so a winch is chosen with margin over the vehicle's weight.
Rope and body
The rope is 21/64 in (about 8 mm) diameter, 19-strand steel, 65 ft (about 20 m) long. VEVOR says it resists sunlight, wear and breakage. The body is coated alloy with an IP55 protection class, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and water jets, though not submersion. After wet recoveries, drying and checking the unit is good practice.
Remote controls
A wireless remote with a 59 ft (18 m) range lets you stand clear of the vehicle and rope while operating. A 9.8 ft (3 m) wired remote is included as backup, for trails or areas where the wireless signal is weak. Standing well back from a loaded line is the usual advice with any winch, and gloves and a line damper are standard recovery gear.
Mounting and what's in the box
VEVOR says the universal mounting pattern fits most SUVs, pickups and Jeeps. The set includes the fairlead, hook and power cables. The winch weighs 64.4 lb (about 29 kg) and measures 21.1 x 6.3 x 8.3 inches. The mounting plate or bumper must be strong enough to carry it and the full pulling load.
Who it suits
It suits off-road drivers who want a self-recovery tool, people who tow or haul boats and trailers on ramps or soft ground, and farm or property owners with a vehicle that works on rough terrain.
What to check before you buy
- Vehicle weight: compare the 10,000 lb capacity with your vehicle's loaded weight.
- Mounting point: confirm your bumper or mount fits the bolt pattern and can take the load.
- Electrical system: a 12V winch needs a healthy battery and proper cabling.
- Recovery gear: you'll usually want gloves, a tree trunk protector, shackles and a snatch block.
- Legal and insurance rules: check any local rules for front-mounted equipment.
- Use and upkeep: follow the manual and inspect the rope for damage regularly.
