The VEVOR EX56A-12 is a 12-volt DC fuel transfer pump for moving fuel from a drum or tank into a vehicle, tractor or other equipment. It comes with a hose, a suction pipe and an automatic shut-off nozzle, so it is sold as a complete kit. It is designed for farms, workshops and anyone who handles bulk fuel.
Flow rate, head lift and suction lift
VEVOR rates the pump at up to 16 US gallons per minute (GPM), driven by a 1/4 HP motor turning at 2,500 r/min, and says a tractor tank can be filled in roughly 27 seconds. Those are the brand's figures for ideal conditions. In use, hose length, fuel type and the height difference all slow the flow.
Two other figures describe the pumping height. Suction lift (VEVOR lists 9.8 ft or more) is how far below the pump the fuel can be drawn. Head lift (26.2 ft or more) is how far above the pump it can be pushed. Both matter if the source tank is low or the target is raised.
Which fuels it handles
The listing names gasoline, diesel, kerosene, ethanol and methanol blends, and biodiesel. Check the manual for the limits on each, and don't use it with liquids the manufacturer doesn't list.
Automatic shut-off nozzle
The nozzle shuts off on its own when the tank is full. You press and release the trigger rather than holding it, so you don't need to watch the level. Automatic nozzles still depend on the tank's own design, so stay with the tank while filling.
Fuel collection box and construction
A collection box under the nozzle holder catches drips after filling, and VEVOR says the nozzle rests in an aluminium alloy casing. The pump body is cast iron, painted to resist rust. Inside, thermal overload protection is designed to stop the motor overheating in abnormal use, which is a common feature on motors that run on a battery supply.
What's in the box
- A 13 ft rubber outlet hose.
- An adjustable telescopic suction pipe, 1.74 ft to 3.15 ft.
- The automatic nozzle.
- An elbow fitting.
- A roll of PTFE tape for sealing threaded joints.
Power
At 12V DC, the pump is meant to run from a vehicle battery or a similar supply. A pump of this size can draw a high current, so the cable gauge, clamps and fuse arrangement matter. Follow the manual's wiring instructions.
Who it suits
It suits farm and equipment owners, workshops and fleet users who move fuel regularly and want a faster option than a hand pump. For occasional small jobs a manual pump may be enough.
What to check before you buy
- Fuel type: confirm your fuel is one of those the listing names.
- Power source: check you have a suitable 12V supply and the right cable and connections.
- Hose and pipe lengths: 13 ft of hose and a suction pipe up to 3.15 ft must reach your containers.
- Fittings: confirm the threads suit your drum or tank.
- Safety: fuel is flammable. Follow the manual and local rules on storing, handling and transferring it, and work outdoors or somewhere well ventilated.
