The VEVOR 4 Way AC Gauge (model WZ--J401) is a manifold gauge set for measuring and servicing refrigerant systems. It is used when charging, evacuating or diagnosing air conditioning in cars, homes and refrigerators. The set comes with its hoses, couplers and adapters, so the main parts for hooking up to a system are in one box.

What a four-way manifold does

A manifold gauge set connects to a system's low and high sides and shows the pressure on each. The four-valve design adds extra ports, so you can connect a vacuum pump, a refrigerant source and the system at the same time. VEVOR also includes a sight glass, which lets you see liquid refrigerant flowing during charging.

Refrigerants it supports

VEVOR says the set is compatible with R134A, R12, R22 and R410A. That covers many car systems as well as household air conditioners and refrigerators. Check the label on your equipment for the refrigerant type, and confirm that the fittings match.

Gauges and accuracy

The gauges combine a dry and liquid-filled design, with a dry dial that VEVOR says improves winter performance. Calibration screws allow adjustment, and VEVOR states accuracy of ±1.6%. Temperature is shown in Fahrenheit.

Hoses and build

The set has four 5-foot PVC hoses with four reinforced layers. VEVOR rates them for working pressure up to 800 psi and burst pressure of 4000 psi. Anti-slip sealing gaskets at the connections are meant to keep fittings from loosening and reduce leaks. The body is made of solid brass, aluminium, PVC and plastic.

What's in the box

  • 1 x 4-valve gauge
  • 2 x quick couplers
  • 3 x adapters (1/4 SAE to 1/2 ACME, 1/4 to 5/16 SAE, 5/16 to 1/4 SAE)
  • 4 x 5 ft hoses
  • 1 x valve core wrench, 1 x screwdriver and 1 x hook
  • Gaskets, O-rings, sealing gaskets, fittings and a manual

The box measures 12.2 x 11.8 x 3.3 inches and the set weighs 6.8 lb (about 3.1 kg).

Who it suits

It suits home mechanics doing their own car air conditioning work, as well as people who service household units. Refrigerants are regulated in many places, and handling them may require certification or specific procedures. Follow local rules and the manual.

What to check before you buy

  • Refrigerant type: confirm your system uses one of the four listed.
  • Port fittings: check the couplers and adapters match your system's service ports.
  • Skills and rules: check local requirements for handling and recovering refrigerant.
  • Related tools: you may need a vacuum pump and a refrigerant supply, which are not listed in the kit.
  • Upkeep: keep the hoses and gaskets clean and inspect them for wear before each use.

  • Gauges with ±1.6% stated accuracy and a sight glass.
  • Includes couplers, adapters, a valve core wrench and spare seals.
