The VEVOR 3.5 CFM vacuum pump set (model TW-1K(R32)) bundles a single-stage vacuum pump with a manifold gauge set, hoses and adapters. It is used to pull air and moisture out of an air-conditioning or refrigeration system before it is charged with refrigerant. VEVOR lists it for car A/C and HVAC repair.

Why a system needs a vacuum

Air and moisture inside a refrigerant circuit reduce cooling and can cause corrosion and acid formation over time. A vacuum pump lowers the pressure in the system so that moisture boils off at room temperature and is drawn out. Technicians typically hold the vacuum for a period and watch for a pressure rise that points to a leak. Follow the vehicle or equipment manufacturer's procedure for target vacuum and hold time.

What the pump specs mean

VEVOR gives these figures:

  • Free air displacement: 3.5 CFM. How much air the pump moves, which determines how fast it evacuates a system. Larger systems typically take longer.
  • Ultimate vacuum: 40 microns. The lowest pressure the pump can reach on its own. Lower is deeper.
  • Single-stage design: a simpler pump than a two-stage one, intended by VEVOR to deliver a more stable ultimate vacuum.
  • Motor: 150W, 120V/60Hz, 1720 rpm.
  • Oil: 250 ml capacity, with VG100 pump oil supplied in a 250 ml bottle. A sight glass and oil scale let you check the level.

VEVOR says the pump passed an A2L explosion-proof test, relevant to the milder flammable refrigerants some newer systems use. Always follow the manual and local codes for the refrigerant in question.

Gauges and hoses

The manifold gauge set has rubber-wrapped gauges, which VEVOR describes as drop-proof, with scales for common refrigerants. The three-colour rubber hoses use a leak-proof seal and are rated by VEVOR at 800-4000 PSI working pressure, with R410A and R32 named as higher-pressure examples. Note that VEVOR also says the refrigerant gauge cannot detect vacuum, so check the connections repeatedly for leaks.

Adapters and what's in the box

The listing includes one manifold gauge set, one three-colour hose set, two R410A adapters, one R134a quick coupler, two R1234yf adapters, a bottle opener, a carry bag and a 250 ml bottle of vacuum pump oil. The pump inlet fittings are 1/4" SAE male and 1/2" ACME male.

Portability

The pump weighs 17 lb. A T-shaped heat sink helps shed heat and the handle is shaped for lifting. VEVOR notes that a small amount of the oil from factory testing may leak in transit without affecting use.

Who it suits

It suits home mechanics and HVAC or car A/C technicians who need to evacuate a system as part of a repair. Handling refrigerants is regulated in many places and often requires certification, so check local rules.

What to check before you buy

  • Refrigerant and fittings: confirm your system's refrigerant and port type match the adapters supplied.
  • System size: a 3.5 CFM pump suits small and medium systems.
  • Power: 120V/60Hz only.
  • Oil: check the level before each use and change it as the manual describes.
  • Leak test: follow VEVOR's methods for checking the pump itself.
  • Safety and legality: follow the manual, local codes and refrigerant-handling regulations.

The short version

  • A single-stage 3.5 CFM pump with 40-micron ultimate vacuum and a 150W motor.
  • Includes manifold gauges, three-colour hoses and R134a, R1234yf and R410A adapters.
  • Sight glass, 250 ml oil capacity and carry bag.
  • Used for car A/C and HVAC evacuation; follow the manual and local rules.
