The Seventour TC-1 is an add-on backup camera kit for vehicles that don't have a rear camera built in. It pairs a 1080P camera, mounted at the licence plate, with a 7-inch monitor for the dashboard or windshield, and it adds a radar parking sensor that beeps as you get close to something. Here is how the parts work together.
The camera and the monitor
The camera records in 1080P full HD with a 170-degree wide angle, so it shows a broad area behind the vehicle rather than a narrow strip. The image appears on a 7-inch monitor, which measures about 7.2 x 4.5 inches in the brand's diagram. A mount bracket and a suction mount gasket come in the box for placing it on the windshield or the dashboard.
On the monitor you can adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, tint and zoom, and switch the mirror view. Mirroring matters because a rear camera's image is usually flipped so it matches what you see in your mirrors.
How the parking sensor alerts you
Alongside the camera, the TC-1 has an integrated parking distance control (PDC) sensor. When an obstacle or a person is within about 3 metres (roughly 10 ft) while you are reversing, a buzzer starts beeping. The beeps get faster as the distance shrinks, and within 0.5 metres the alarm becomes continuous. Sound is useful because you can hear it while your eyes are on the mirrors or the screen.
Night use and weather
At night, the camera's LED light switches on automatically to help the image in low light. The camera housing carries an IP69 waterproof level and is described as dustproof and shockproof. In general terms, the "6" in IP69 means dust-tight and the "9" means protection against close-range, high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. The brand's images show it in rain, snow, heat and darkness.
Power and installation
The monitor runs from the car's 12-24V socket using the included car charger, and the brand's installation steps show three connections: the power supply, the radar buzzer, and an optional wire to the reverse light. If you leave the red wire unconnected, the camera image shows whenever the monitor has power, and a switch turns the screen off when you don't need it. If you connect the red wire to the reverse light's power supply, the image appears automatically only when you shift into reverse.
The camera mounts at the licence plate, and the kit includes two brackets: one lets the camera tilt up and down, the other lets it turn left and right, so you can choose whichever suits your plate position. An extension cable carries the signal from the camera to the front of the vehicle; routing it neatly through the interior takes some time.
Who it suits
It suits drivers of cars, SUVs and pickups without a factory rear camera, and anyone who wants an audible warning as well as a picture when backing up. It's a parking aid rather than a replacement for looking: keep using your mirrors and checking over your shoulder when you reverse.
What to check before you buy
- Mounting spot: check where the monitor will sit, and any local rules on items mounted on the windshield.
- Cable route: plan how the extension cable will run from the plate to the dashboard.
- Wiring: decide whether to connect the red wire to the reverse light, or have the connection made by someone experienced with vehicle wiring.
- Power socket: confirm your vehicle has a 12-24V socket within reach of the monitor.
- Plate position: make sure one of the two brackets fits around your licence plate.
The short version

- Automatic LED light at night and an IP69 waterproof, dustproof housing.
- Plugs into a 12-24V socket, or shows the image only in reverse when wired to the reverse light.
